Depending on how things unfold I've already mulled getting 2 Switch 2's at launch, one for the kids who are already saying they want one and the other to put in a cupboard for when its inevitably cracked and I can mess with it because it'll still be on day one firmware.

Buy three so you can do all of the above and sell the third one for triple its value due to stock shortage to cover the cost of all of them!

I never even think of that but there's a good chance a third one sold at the right time would make enough to make the other two free

I have a soft modded Switch and I never touch it. I think the social stuff like online activity tracking and play time stuff is enough to keep me on my legit Switch.

I did install mGBA and that was amusing enough.

Do we think they'll phase out the current switch entirely? Or perhaps they make the current OLED the base SKU and this new model fits in on top?

I thought that Nintendo would quietly discontinue the 2019 "Redbox" revision that had the improved battery and make the OLED the standard model but it's still here alongside the OLED, so who the hell knows at this point?

Surely they'll just let the Redbox and OLED Switch 1 inventory naturally run out (for firesale prices) once the Switch 2 drops?

Hey...I should probably clarify that "firesale" price reductions by Nintendo standards would likely mean £10 off!

Ooh found out this morning, reservations for Crayon shin chan: Shiro of coal town are now up on amazon J, this game looks stunningly pretty still unsure if it's an official part of the boku natsuyasumi family of games the graphical style says very much yes but i don't know if all the usual boku natsu mechanics are all in there Kaz Ayabe is working on the game as the supervisor so that kind of makes it part of the boku natsu family i guess. There is a minecart racing minigame in there and depending on the store you buy from you can get a promo DLC with a minecart with that stores logo on.

There's a really nice collectors edition that has an artbook in there that i definitely want it can live with my box set from the other game.

The box art is sooo good


I went for this one the bundle of tat edition as amazon are doing what they did with the last one and shipping it in a custom outer box

I don't get it. I thought Crayon Shin-Chan was about crudely drawn humour for small kids. It looks great! But it's like Studio Ghibli decided to make a movie about DangerMouse.

It's like a mashup, like the previous game they combined the worlds of shinchan & bokunatsu together to make an unusual combination. Yup shinchan is more madcap and you wouldn't think that crazyness would work but somehow it does they still keep the sillyness in there but a lot more scaled back. I put these kinds in the same family as Natsumon & attack of the friday monsters they all share things with the originalboku natsu series but are like a spinoff series from the playstation originals.

^ I can't see us buying that any time soon. We've still not finished Tears, Pikmin 4, Wonder, or even the Splatoon 3 single player. Then I'm still on with F-Zero 99.

Wario arrives tomorrow, hopefully. I missed Super Mario RPG back in the day and never got around to it on emu/VC/MiSTer. I've just always had loads of other stuff I'd rather prioritise whenever it surfaces.

Next year at some point, maybe. Spring looks pretty dry so far.
