That's really interesting about your kids' reaction.

I can see why Nintendo are emphasising it in marketing because it's obviously a very visual feature and it's one of only two differences to the old Switch (the other being the mouse mode).

It does have a bit of a fun factor but it doesn't really do a whole lot. I mean you would think it might also do some Eyetoy type stuff, but it seems to just be videochat.

It's really a shame that Nintendo didn't make the new Switch do more fun interesting stuff. I would've loved wireless docking so that you could link multiple units/JoyCons to the same 'dock'/base station and play Mario Chase or Four Swords type games.

That would have been super visual for marketing purposes, too.

I also personally would've overhauled the look of it to be even punchier and more fun than the old Switch. I kinda feel like the choice of colour scheme feels left over from a cancelled "Switch Pro" project. It's very serious.

For anybody interested/desperate/FOMO'd (delete as applicable), Play-Asia have confirmed that their limited pre-orders for Switch 2 hardware will open tomorrow at 12noon Hong Kong time (12midnight ET / 9pm PT / 5am UK BST / 6am CEST).

Is that for US hardware, or in general?

[edit] Found the Tweet, looks like all regions. And it's on the 25th ET, so 26th for Europeans.

              Correct.

Incorrect. UK is seven hours behind Hong Kong, where Play-Asia are based.

12noon in HK tomorrow will be 5am tomorrow in UK. That'll be 6am tomorrow for Central Europe.

For US, it'll be 12midnight tomorrow (Eastern) and 9pm tonight (Pacific).

Ya know what, I hate "midnight" or "12am/pm" because I always misinterpret it and I spend too much time in time zone conveters to double qnd triple check.

Countdown on PA's page says it opens in 15 or so hours, so tomorrow 6am.

No it isn't. It is tomorrow at 5am UK time.

Are you trying to make people miss Play-Asia pre-ordering on purpose??

The results will be announced today "in the afternoon", and Nintendo's JP store is down for maintenance right now...
                          I JUST GOT MY EMAIL!!!

                          I’M A WINNER, BABY!

I went for the multi language one, so that’s probably why.

About Play Asia's Switch 2 preorders: those are for Asian/HK units. All other regions have been removed from the site.

Didn't know that! Just assumed that Play-Asia would have all regions.

HK/Asia machines are still region-free (AFAIK) but that makes it a little less appealing IMO, especially if premium import prices are still going to be applied.

They did. I had the page for the US system bookmarked, but now it leads to a 404. If you search for Switch 2 consoles, you just come up with the HK version; that goes for controllers as well.
