As someone that's gone through many management reshuffles what I've found is theirs always a level of resistance to change, and if you don't get on board with that change you tend to get the boot. I've seen it so many times, new bosses come in and try and put their stamp on things and instigate changes, and you get the "we don't do it that way brigade" pushing back. All the studios founders have been ousted which tells me that they were the ones that were probably pushing back the most and that's why they were removed.
Hearing lines like "Staff complaining about being put on projects they had no interest in" shows that they don't understand how being owned by others works they call the shots, and they decide what's commercially viable for you to work on as it's them that's putting the funds up for development. It all seems to of been pretty futile too as it seems the Twisted metal Live service game they were working on has been canned.

I guess the issue here besides the sexual discrimination / ageism angle (which is just plain wrong) is a potential disconnect between new management and the delivery teams themselves. It's that whole divide between the business and creative side of the coin. Really that is something any company in the business of delivering an entertainment product has to contend with and it seems Firesprite have done it pretty badly all things considered.
We are of course only getting the opinions from the sides of the creatives on the teams but both sides have to be fully aligned in this to be successful / profitable.

I was surprised to see there's currently 851 games on PS Plus compared to 402 on Microsoft's service.
