Have you had any bother with the OS 3.0 firmware so far? I quite fancy downloading it and seeing how it goes. I would assume MMS is unavailable on O2 at present though? Not that I use MMS but my good lady probably will.

I had an e-mail from my cousin earlier today who is over in the US of A with work. He works for a large flash memory company and they have a 3G S in the office with OS 3.0 for 'testing' purposes. He seems really impressed with it and tells me it really is very quick in operation.

Found several bugs in it (nothing to stop it working) and you're right, MMS doesn't work yet (you can write them, but they wont send). However it is really quick (even on a regular 3G iphone), and the search stuff is a great addition. Cut n Paste is a bit of a non-event for me though tbh.

MMS is working fine on mine, I installed on Wdnesday morning, and MMS started working Wednesday evening

You've been able to send them... but are you on O2?

To get MMS working in 3.0, you need to send a text containing "MMS" to 1010 on O2 (all free) and then they send a test MMS message to ensure everything's hunky dorey.

I've been quite impressed with OS 3.0, which I personally feel should have been what we got last year instead of 2.0, and that should have been what people got instead of 1.0. Everything feels tighter and more complete, and some apps are even faster than before like maps which used to take an age to find a signal and then find my location. It now takes a fraction of that time when I compared it side by side with a friend's 3G on 2.2.1.

Not spotted many bugs yet, though in Messages, there seems to be no way to withdraw the keyboard once you start tapping out a message, and then decide not to send it. Only way I can get around it is to exit the conversation and then re-enter it again.

Overall, very happy with the refinements and it's enough to keep me from lusting after a 3G S.

I've heard that you can add other peoples iPhones to a developer account, not really sure how it works personally but if it's easily done (and no risk to you at all) is there any chance that anyone on here could add me to their account so I could give 3.0 a go as I'm not going to be here when it's actually released.

If it doesn't work that easily then by all means say no.

I did that, and got the reply "Sending picture messages from your iPhone is not available until 17th June after you have downloaded the new OS 3.0 Software. Please text us again then."

Anyone know if the new iPhone 3G S got bluetooth as yet?

Funnily enough, I just got that message from O2 after trying to send another MMS. Seems they've gotten smart to people downloading the GM release. It did work up until yesterday at least...

You don't need a developer account to try the Gold Master release of 3.0. Just find somewhere to download it (will have 7A341 in the title) and make sure you hold down shift on a PC, or alt on a Mac as you press check for new updates in iTunes, then navigate to the firmware file.

MMS is working again, just received one from a friend and sent one back without a problem.

                            Not for me Same error.

Are "Notifications" working for you Taka (or anyone else)? Not got a single one yet. About to log a bug for that too.

Yes, I'm on an o2 iPhone contract, I didn't have to do anything to set up either, I just received the MMS message from o2 stating picture messaging is ready to use

Nothing in terms of notifications yet, but surely that'll only work with either a test release of an app or on the actual day when Apple switch their push servers on?

Would be curious to see what other bugs you've spotted throughout the OS.
