This stuff about importing music and video seems really annoying. How long did it take to sort that out Blair? Also whats the touch like for surfing the net?

can anyone recommend a FM transmitter for the new ipod nano? Are the fm transmitters any good?

I use the Griffin iTrip Auto (the "Auto" model charges as well) with mine. I've had varying results depending on the car tbh. As a cheap/quick/portable/none-destructive way of getting ipods playing through your speakers theyre not bad. But don't expect amazing sound quality.

I converted 8 video files of 22 mins each from a vlc compatible fomat (QT I think) to the iTunes one and iSquint did them all automatically in about 2 hours. No hassle just time consuming.

The touch is excellent for surfing the net if you have a magnifying glass. I haven't found a way to increase the screen size but it is tremendous at finding and joining networks.
EG i put the password for my HomeHub and I have not have to do it again.

Do you not just move your fingers outwards to zoom in on the screen? Or doesn't that work on webpages?

To a small degree it works yes but it is not enough IMO. I don't like to be squinting any more than needed

That's disappointing to read then as I'd hoped the iPhone/Touch would be a replacement for my Axim PDA. But if you can't zoom in to a decent level in Safari then that's it off the must-buy list.

Just read that the FM remote doesn't work with the Touch? Not even as a remote? I'm distraught!

I remember one of the iPhone tutorial vids where they showed double tapping a paragraph of text to zoom it up to full screen. Have you tried that?

The iPod touch looks very tempting, but it only has 16GB which is tiny

Blair, Have you turned your Touch sideways? I've just tried it vertically and, like you say, even when its zoomed in its quite tiny. But if you turn it horizontally it seems fine and readable?

Re 16gb: The new flash based Zunes top out at 8gb... 16gb isn't that bad!
