I can't speak for Kotatsu, but I'd never want my phone to be my mp3 player. Like Vince mentioned if the battery went from listening to mp3's then you'd be without a phone as well. One of the main reasons I carry an ipod along side my (walkman!) phone, even though the phone's more than capable of doing everything the ipod can do.

It was a typo, what I meant to say was I would sooner get the iPod Touch than the iPhone.

yeah i prefer to keep everything separate - phone for phoning, camera for pictures and ipods for music.

that way if i'm listening to something cool and don't wanna answer the phone i don't have to!

I think also the iPhone is perhaps a bit too delicate/beautiful to work as a phone. I throw my phone around without a care, so it takes knocks and it doesn't bother me. It's also much smaller than an iPhone so takes up less space in my pocket.

What will you do if the next firmware update breaks the unlock though?

cry or not update the firmware till a solution is sought the thing works fine atm and if by not upgrading i miss out on wireless itunes (a feature i will never use) then so be it

nope and again the voicemail button takes you straight to your voicemail anyway since i rarely get voicemails on it the ability to listen to them in any order is another thing i dont use.

I picked up an iPod Touch today as I'm a sucker for gadgets and am interested to see what its like as a combined iPod/PDA. Its charging just now, but the screen looks lovely and I can't wait to see what its like in use.

I went in to the Apple Store in Glasgow, said "I'd like a 16Gb iPod Touch please". They took one from their storeroom and I paid for it.

It has been released. Apple shops have been getting them in dribs and drabs. Larger quantities expected round the end of the month.
