Pretty sure thats a yes
I'm pretty sure it comes with everything you need
Only use itunes for legit stuff - 56k is ok but it will be a wait to do some stuff
Try www.iskin.com or www.proporta.com/ipod I've not tried either but they look good.
Bought mine in NY, NY so have no idea - sorry man
Aye
Cheers for the other tips!

Well that is pants isn't it?! No Windows 98 support for the iPod software! Be a pretty useless xmas present from me to the missus if she gets all excited and then I tell her - Actually you can only use it on the pc at my house - It doesn't work on yours. "Oh so how can I put songs on there?" ... "Well...I'd have to do it. Give me your cds and i'll work on it." BAH! APPLE YOU NOBSACKS!

I use the Notmad software for my Zen and its quality.
Anapod Explorer currently supports the following devices:
Apple iPod: First Generation (mechanical wheel)
Apple iPod: Second Generation (touch wheel)
Apple iPod: Third Generation (touch wheel and dock connector, dock itself not required)
Apple iPod: Fourth Generation (click wheel)
Apple iPod mini
Apple iPod Photo
Apple iPod U2 Special Edition
iPod+HP (same as 4th Gen Apple iPod)
All capacities are supported.
iPod must be formatted for Windows.
Runs on Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.

"iPod must be formatted for windows"?
What does that mean? Just setting it for windows rather than Mac?
So I can get this programme to run for her iPod mini?
Can I demo it first?
And finally - How will I know her old pc is up to the USB 2.0 spec for the iPod cable?Last edited by SharkAttack; 04-11-2004, 15:35.

There are certain programs that you can run to find out, but if it's old enough to be running Win 98, it's unlikely that it'd have USB 2.0
Not all is lost, however! You can easily get a Firewire or USB 2.0 card for your PC. The 4G iPod comes with both cables, so I presume the Mini does too.
I prefer Firewire, as things seem to transfer quicker, but it's up to you.

my Griffin iTrip finally arrived today ... took about 2 mins to set up (installing it firstly into iTunes - then auto-syncing my iPod to have all the radio frequencies as a playlist), plug the iTrip into my iPod and find an empty radio station (default is 87.9 fm which is empty in my area) - all comes through loud and clear
looks perfect when connected to the iPod, works like a charm, not sure how it will effect battery life yet but since i am getting 12+ hours from a single charge i ain't too arsed about that ... highly recommended
now to order a 60gb iPod
