Nice, thanks. I'm going to give that a try over the weekend for the PSP - haven't bothered with anything like that before.

I jailbroke mine via jailbreakme.com and am loving all the extra abilities I've got: google maps, gmail (can use other email accounts as well), NES emulator, sudoku, add calendar appointments etc.. plus wallpapers on the main screen are nice too.

I have synced mine via iTunes since and all is still functioning A-OK. That's not to say they won't scupper it next firmware, but its not as bad as with iPhones as worst case scenario is that you'll end up going back to a regular iPod.

        Nothing to lose...

edit: Have to say I'm loving the gmail support actually. I take my ipod into meetings now! Touch > Blackberry

Chris - does this invalidate the warranty?

If it goes funny buggers can you do a hard reset and will it reomve all the goodies if it needs to be sent back to Apple?

No idea regarding warranty. Quite probably! My experience of hardware is that it always fails 3 days out of warranty anyway!

You can do a reset within iTunes to remove everything, but I don't know if you can do a hard reset using the device itself? I know there's certain keypresses on other iPods but not sure what you'd do with a Touch?

100% worth it. It's a completely different device when broken. You can now break it without using a computer, just point your iPod Touch to a certain site and it does it all for you. This will even close the tiff exploit to stop malicious attacks.
I did mine via iJailbreak.com (Mac only) and that was pretty simple, just a case of having to turn off and on your iPod when prompted.

Yes it invalidates your warranty, but a hard reset will get rid of any trace of it being Jail broken.

How do you hard reset the touch? That the same as the factory reset via iTunes?

I think you hold down the home and off buttons for 5 seconds or so.

Ah, thank you. I won't try it...

Yeah, I meant Factory reset. Hard reset will just restart a frozen iPod.

Been jailbreaking my Touch this evening. So how do I get Nes stuff on there now once I have the Nes emulator?

Just recently aquired a 3rd Gen UK iPod Nano 4GB to replace my 2nd Gen HK iPod Nano 4GB as I wanted to watch videos.

I had my 2nd Gen HK iPod Nano 4GB for 8 months and I didn't scratch it once - I have my 3rd Gen UK iPod Nano 4GB for 1 day and I've already got light scratches at the back despite me looking after this carefully.
This has pissed me off so much!

And you know, come middle of next year there will (more than likely) be an all new iPod Nano with full metalic case like the 2nd Gen iPod Nano's!!!

                              Anyway, another serious problem!

My newly bought 3rd Gen UK iPod Nano 4GB is way quieter than my previous 2nd Gen HK iPod Nano 4GB...

Anyone know if I can make this louder?

I did this previously with my old iPod Mini...

Thanks to all replies in advance!

You can thank the EU for the volume being limited on your UK iPod.
