Check your credit card stuff. I too seem to be at 2Mb. While I got the email about the incorrect billing (?17-ish instead of ?15) I have a ?20.81 bill, also from Pipex. Curious.

EDIT - Solved it. It's the rebate from the extra payment for the one off upgrade (ie I got around ?2 off this month's pipex bill)

Ok, those who seem to be on a 2mb connection, are you on Solo1000 or Pipex Lite 2000 as a cock up??

Bandwidth suggests only that I'm on 2meg, I selected solo1000 and Pipex lists my account as solo500 on the My Account page.

Make of that what you will.

edit- sorry, I see why you're asking now. Had this email this morning:

The speed of your service will be increased to 1Mbps automatically as
part of a network upgrade programme PIPEX is undertaking, which will run during the spring and summer this year. However, if you want to take advantage of the higher speed sooner or go even faster with our new PIPEX Lite 2000 service with a 5GB usage allocation, and do not wish to wait for the network upgrade you can do this now for a one off fee of ?15 (inc of VAT)*, just visit My PIPEX at www.mypipex.net and within a few clicks you will move into the fast lane without increasing your monthly rental.
I specifically asked for solo1000, so I'll be annoyed if they've put me on 2000 lite.

What about us Solo Extreme users who are already on 2meg

                        What do we get?

Is it not a price reduction?

Wish I'd paid the extra to avoid the wait. I just got my free speed upgrade last week - they've given me too much as I appear to be on 1.5Mb instead of the 1Mb I should be getting. I didn't think it'd make a difference, but I've started downloading stuff again since this happened. Bittorrent is a joy to use now.

I can't complain too much though - I live in a little isolated village so I wasn't expecting BB at all. Anything is a bonus tbh.

Boo... at least you've got it.

Here in Reading I'm still on 1/2 Mbit.

I'd totally forgotten about it as it'd been so long since they e-mailed me. Then last week I noticed things were loading faster and videos etc.. were loading in seconds. I figured 512Kb would be more than fast enough after all those years of dialup, but the difference is still quite shocking.
