Also, I think the manual said the "correct" resolution to set your PC to it while using VGA is 1280x7xx (Cant never remember the last 2 digits) is that a bad thing? seems small for hi-res.
Yeah its a standard 3.5mm jack socket, like you would plug headphones into, the official vga lead comes with an adapter to connect to this kind of socket

      Guys,

On the subject of the JVC LT-32DX7 I was wondering, whats better, DVI from a HDCP compatible machine converted to HDMI and plugged into the telly, or DVI from a HDCP machine converted to VGA and plugged in?

My machine has dual 7900GTXs and can support HDCP so I was wondering if it was a good idea?

That's a pain. They're not terribly expensive from your local hi-fi-bits supplier, though.

I don't need it anyway. Optical out > optical in here.

Hmmm... Seeing as that JVC will do 1:1 pixel mapping over its VGA input, I'd perhaps be inclined to go that route and leave the 2 hdmi inputs free for digital devices like HD DVD/Blu Ray players, or Sky HD... or indeed a DVD player with HDMI output that upscales internally.

I ain't trawling this whole thread - somebody talk to me about Sony Bravia 3LCD sets - any good ??? Primarily for the 360 and a bit of telly my mate raves about his 50" set (?1295 odd).

How big is the pic difference between this type of set and say a Sammy LCD ? I'm still tempted by the 41" Sammy as it has always been the set on my radar.

Typical; just as my 7 days to return this TV are nearly up, Sony goes and announces a 20" version with much better specs. All the inputs are the same, but it's now 1600:1, 6ms and has a 1680x1050 native resolution. Expected price is $900. (although having said that, the price for this was meant to be $600, and I've seen it for ?600 here)

After all the hassle I've had though; I think I'll probably just stick with what I've got. At least is can display 720p natively without having to scale.

I have recently moved into londons west end, cheap rent but a small room with my x box 360 and Gc ps2 and x box ready to go.
I want a HD display but space is an issue.
                    Ideally I would want this

                    Tv toshiba 32 wlt58

                    http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+TV/Televisions/+Televisions+/LCD/230222385/Product.aspx

But as space may be an issue I was looking for something smaller maybe this the samsung 940 mw 19 incher

I have played pc games on such a small screen but consoles only through 28 inch plus tvs, do u think u loose something if playing console games through such a small display? Also does anyone have or know about either of these displays and have any advice?

                    Thanks

                      Meh, big link.
Andrew has been banging on about a small Sony that might work for you. Skip back a few pages....

The Gadget Show, which I've never seen before but happens to be on at the moment on 5, is about to review a bunch of HDTVs. I think the LG was included, didn't catch what the others are.

Thanks, yeah sorry about the big links not sure why sometimes they are small and sometimes huge.

I think I have decided against the smaller one, might as well go large.

Their 'feature' was pretty crap IMO. There was a Hitachi, Sony V Series and an LG (all near the 40 inch mark). According to them the Hitachi was the best set available for viewing HD images.

TBH, I lost all confidence in their face offs when they compared the new MP3 players.

Yeah, it was pretty rubbish. The toaster test was more scientific.

The thing is, the blokes on the show give the impression that they know what they're talking about, but then the content is dumbed down.
