Play have this Sammy with built in Freeview, here. I demoed one of these before going for the LG and I wasn't really feeling it, but a lot of peeps here are very happy with it.

Obviously if you spend more you can get something much better, like a Sony or Panny etc. but for your budget these two seem like a good bet. Play also offer this one, but I have no experience with it so I don't know if it's any good.

I got the same LG tv. It is definitely very recomended. I've seen the Samsungs and i would say that this TV is superior. Not night and day or anything, but def the better of the two.

Only issues i've had with it is one dead pixel which is actually invisible unless you have your face about 4 inches from the screen, so that don't matter.

I was also recieving strange interference only at the right side of the screen. I thought the TV was ****ed for a while. Concept has also mentioned these streaky interference line before. It took me a while to realise (through experimenting with stuff) that these streaky lines were only on the DVI-I input, which lead me to believe the input might be ****ed, or the DVI to DVI/VGA splitter adaptor i was using was screwed. That i realised. that the xbox VGA lead was touching the 360 power brick and must have been picking up 50/60Hz cycle hum and this was the cause of the problem.

It has gone away since reorganising cables.

So the moral of these ramblings is to make sure your cables are far away from the 360 power brick. It a noisy bastard.

Another vote for the LG 26LX2R here. Excellent RGB Scart support, lots of connectivity (Scart, Component, HDMI, DVI and VGA using a splitter), supports both Video and PC 'levels' of overscan over DVI/VGA and HDMI. In the price range, I don't think you can ask for much morel

You can get the 26" Samsung for ?480.00 from Freemans if you haven't ordered with them before (20% off for first time buyers). It comes with Freeview and a stand.

I got the 32" a while back and am very pleased with it.

Says 599 for me and no mention of the stand....But i'll keep looking.

                    Thanks

                    Edit:

How do I claim my 20% discount off my first order with you?

Welcome to Freemans. To help kick-start your shopping, we?d like to offer you 20% off your first order with us. Make a note of the Offer code before you start shopping, and remember to enter in the box provided on the shopping bag page. This offer is only valid for new customers spending ?40 or more in a single transaction with Freeman.

So what would I have to type into the offer code then?

The ?599.00 excludes the 20% discount (see big, pink banner above the pictures of the TVs). The stand is very, very small though. You would need a stand for the stand. Perhaps I should have mentioned that!

                      Edit:

From memory, it put the code in when I ordered (DREP I think). It doesn't show the discount in the basket though (which made me a little nervous) so I e-mailed for confirmation.

I used the DRUP code but that was ages ago.

And you could get lucky like me and get the set for ?383, lol.

So what should you enter in code bar for da 20% discount?

When you register accounts, what all this business about having a account number, is it allocated or do you just enter in a random Letter than some random 8/9 numbers afterwards?

So what is the discount code? drup or drep? Or should I just actually rihgt '20% discount for first time buyers' into the offer box?

A discount code worked for me against a 26" Samsung HD LCD ... but then my order was cancelled about a week later so be prepared it might happen to you.

Sorry for the later reply. Unfortunitly the discussion is buried deep in the Oblivion First Play thread. It is too vast for me to search for it.

I think i still get the interference. It's SO faint you can hardly see it. I think it might be the TV warming up. They pretty much completely go away after the TV's been on for a bit.
