Stunning review, Lyris. Pity the vast percentage of Home Cinema magazines can not be so thorough. Really glad that you're pleased with it. Ideally I am tempted by the 40inch model. As the year goes on, if it shows up at a good price I?m rather confident of snapping one up, or at the very least siding with the 32 inch model.

That looks nice Lyris. Shame it'll stop working in twelve months time

                      Hi guys

I need some TV based help. I'm looking to order a new 32" screen over the next week or so to go into my new games room. I currently have a 36" Sony CRT in the lounge and a spare 21" Sony CRT.

Mainly the new TV will be used from consoles - currently have Cube/PS2/Xbox, but will probably end up with a 360 at some point, and definately a Wii. Also have a Sky connection (not HD) and a PC to connect into it.

I have been speaking to a friend who knows his stuff, though he's not a big gamer, he recommended the Toshiba 32WLT66. I've not found any mention of this set in this thread so my first question is, does anyone have one ?

One thing i am a little confused about is the resolutions output by the consoles. At the moment i used SCART for PS2 and Xbox, and S-Video for Cube - i want the best possible outputs from these machine onto the new screen. However if the 32" screen has a higher resolution than the output from the consoles would i be right in suggesting i need a screen with a good scaler on it ? Would a current gen console outputting 480i onto my Sony CRT's look better than a 480p output on the LCD ? Should i look at Plasma instead of LCD ?

                      Help !!

Must be some kind of record

Out of interest (if you've tried) what happens when you send a 720p signal through the VGA input? I noticed that all of the resolutions in the manual seem to indicate the image is altered to its native size of 768?

From what I've seen of the current crop of LCD's they tend to display a black screen just wondered if this one can deal with it.

So, to ask a fairly idiotic question: what is the best LCD-tv for ?1770?

Chunky my previous set was the Tosh WLT58 and it was a decent set apart from a few niggles, I ended up sending it back though.

The new WLT66 sound like an improvement, Its a shame the 42 and 47 sets are quoted as 1080p but the manual states otherwise. Would have been interesting to see.

Kron would this set be about as good as i can get for a 32" screen ? I'm worried that playing games on it at 480p scaled won't be as good as 480i on a CRT.

Also been advised that it's not worth getting the cables for the PS2 as not many games support 480p, not sure if that's good advice or not though.

Unsupported signal message I'm afraid - maybe PowerStrip would help?
