I've been considering getting an X-RGB2 for a while, since it would offer 1024x768 upscaling of older consoles, which is great for 1366x768 sets. My interest has rejuvinated after learning the LG can pass 50Hz through VGA after all.

Fair enough Dock, I might this about getting one sometime in the Spring/Summer. I am just after replacing my monitor with a flatscreen eventually. I like other LG stuff so I may look at those as they seem to be recomended elsewhere.

What's your budget, and how big a TV do you want? LG (like the one in the office) and Samsung seem the most popular choices at the moment.

PS The Gold frog is best, followed by green frog. The order is printed on the back of the frog!

Which model LG are people here using?

My old 4:3 is on the way out and i'm thinking of a new tv. HD would be lovely for the 360, but it wil have to look good with standard tv and old consoles too. I know very little and tvs and would appreciate any suggestions.

oh, how are the response times? ghosting drives me nuts.

          LG 26LX2R

Havent seen any ghosting yet and I think response time is 8ms.

Freeview via RGB is certainly watchable, but when I go back to watch it on the CRT in the living room, I can notice the difference, but not too much bother.

Yeh, Ive not seen one bit of ghosting at all on this LG. It is 8ms.

I think RGB is great on the TV, Sky looks ace, obviously, could be sharper and it is better on the CRT in the living room for me like HaHa says too but its not so bad that you would not get it for this reason, still a great picture.

I haven't seen any ghosting either if you're talking about movement smearing. Both the LG and Samsung have been good in this department.

I was looking at the stats and noticed the 8ms, looks really nice for what it is and as electrics usally come down in price, if I wait until summer when I was planning to get it I could get a good deal on it.

Got my 360 VGA cable today! Official JPN one.

Works excellent, though I found the image to be a little washed when running in 640x480, and 1360x768. Yet it looks lovely in 1280x720, just as colourful as Component. I can only assume that the 360 internal scaler ain't that good compared to the one in my TV. So if your image is washed, set to 1280x720 regardless of your screens native resolution.

Just an update. I've got to ask you something, are you using a switchbox/farmer to connect to the component? I had a small theory that this *could* have been causing the problems. Well, I removed mine, and connected the 360 directly, and behold, it's MUCH better in the dashboard.Have a look and tell me what you think.

...that would explain why I also get the problem when using the Component-to-VGA transcoder!

                          *feels like a dope*

You tried it for yourself yet Jake? I'm still looking for a second opinion on this, but I'm pretty sure this solves it.

I am connecting directly to the unit. It's not terrible, although the text ghosting is slightly worse if I use a switchbox.

The Xbox Family Settings video also features the same text ghosting I'm seeing, so I'm near certain it's a factor of component. I was expecting VGA-style crispness that probably isn't possible with an analogue connection. It only happens on bright background text - impossible to notice on moving images, or any images at all for that matter.

Yeah, I had a look at PGR3, and you CAN still see the problem, but it's not as apparent as before. Well, I guess I'll avoid the switcher for now, until I get my VGA cable.
