The Samsung sets are all style and no substance though, you can get much better performing sets for the same money.

I remember during Summer 2005, Samsung had a fairly big following on the AV Forums because they were among the first to introduce an affordable 32" HDTV (800 pounds or so). But it had a few problems and there seemed to be a higher than average number of dud sets.
Now the competition is a lot tougher and even "expensive" brands like Sony have comparably priced TVs, so I can't see any reason to put Samsung at the top of your list.

Samsung haven't really improved much in regards to picture quality since, a few people here who owned the Samsung's have gone to the WLT68 sets and are dead chuffed with them.

Well, chalk me up as another Toshiba convert too.
Got my 32WLT68 today and it's already justified me splashing the money on it. Gone are the artifacts and extra jaggies from the manky scaler in my JVC LCD.
Although the Tosh obviously doesn't get rid of jaggies at least I now know my TV's not introducing any more and degrading the picture
As another plus the image seems to be so much richer and colourful too. The settings are still a little too dark for my liking but I'm still in the middle of tweaking.
Hurrah!Last edited by Spatial; 06-02-2007, 16:35. Reason: I should get the model number right at the very least
