LOL. As I said, the lounge photos (showing the windows) were from the prospectus, our furiniture is more down to earth, and we haven't finished upacking yet.

Impossible not to have clutter with the littles ones running riot.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I'll update with the other project when I'm done.

Wow mate!! That is one beast of a TV! I LOVE CRTS but that one is stunning. Love the thin frame lol.

What is it?? Is it a 480p one?

I give it a month before Capcom's place becomes a mess though; no one can keep it that pristine for so long.

Totally agree mate, with both of us working we opted for cleaners to come each tuesday. It's not that expensive and saves a huge amount on arguments!

I am now finished with the network design, and have opted with Homeplug AV @ 200mbs to connect floors, as I have no Cat5e between the ground and second floor.

That was my old setup, I need up to update my picture.

I've seen sold that TV, it was a great set. It was the Toshiba 32ZP48 picture frame set, which supported 480p over component. If only it wasn't so heavy, and so deep I might have kept it.

Man that's rubbish - you don't even have a Wii!

This is what it looks like now I've got rid of the CRT and built some shelves:

Damn man, I cant believe that you got rid of that CRT for an LCD I'd never trade it for a (IMO) ****ty LCD. CRT all the way baby!!

If only it was more like the US over here. They got all the good HD ready crts with 1080i and even native 720p tubes! Damn why is the UK so LCD-friendly? I'd gladly trade in some room space for better picture quality.

LCD tv's look more sophisticated than CRT's in modern-day houses. However, I do like the vintage look of old tv's, but the sleek designs on modern tv's suit the house better.

Ah, this is were you're wrong. Its a Plasma, which in my opinion are far superior to LCD's (although lets not bring up the LCD vs Plasma debate here :P). Its a Panny PX60, but I plan to upgrade to the PZ80 soon

Hehe I stand corrected. Plasma IS better yes. Closer to CRT (still not spot-on when compared to HD crts)

But then you have the massive risk of premature burn-in.. Even high-end ones still have this problem I believe..

been running my plasma for almost 3yrs now and not one bit of screen burn and i have all the extra screen burn options turned off , i have a Panasonic TH42PWD7 and even tho its a SD screen i absolutley love it and it was worth the £1000 i paid for it , i like it so much im in no rush for a HD screen

I went from the same CRT to that Plasma, and they both rocked..

                              @ C_S

Very nice house, you must have spent alot of time and effort planning it all out, well worth it in the end.

                                Thanks Rob,

I made one mistake though... The harmony 1000 can't talk to the Gira lighting system over RF, so I'll have to live with 2 remotes. 1 for the AV stuff and 1 for lighting.

I'm off to Ikea tonight to start getting the games/cinema/play room furniture. Not an easy task to make this room "Wife friendly" but I'll do my best.

I think I'll put all the AV kit (Wii, 360, PS3, AMP) into this one:

As always with Ikea, I'll replace the handle with something nicer, maybe stainless steel, and this will give it a much better look.

It opens and closes easily, so air can come in when playing, and kids fingers are not able to wreck kit when it's closed! It suitably hides everything when not in use.

I'm still undecided on TV number 2. At the moment the best option seems to be a Sony 40" W4000, but I'm half temped to buy a smaller TV. I'm worried that sitting close to the TV, a 40" is too big, but I really want to have a 1080p set.... Might look at 37" sets going cheap from Samsung.

I'm also keen for getting some great bean bags called "Fat Boys", but I'm meeting wife resistance!

                                We will see.....
