But if all you care about is pure black level in a dark room, then it's the right display for you. (seems to be all Plasma owners go on about - I never watch in a dark room, so maybe that's why I wasn't too keen on it)
    Thanks Andrew,
I've got a five year old daughter who watches TV in the main room. She always touches and prods the telly whenever any show she likes is on.

This is the reason why I thought maybe I should go plasma (glass screen), although I don't know if I could live with the faults you have listed so maybe I'll have a rethink.

I finally dropped the dollar for a 360 on Monday and the whole forced letterbox thing 'forced' me to spend even more cash on a 28" widescreen CRT to play it on

I really don't know what I'm going to do with all my consoles. My retro machines are in the white boxes or boxed up in the cupboard, and you can just see my GameCube below the left speaker where it was unceremoniously dumped after being moved to make way for the new TV.

My stereo kit is on the right there and my PS2 and Xbox are still in their usual places but I'm probably going to shift it all around when the Wii lands in a few weeks. I was thinking of just boxing up a ****load of the games on the top shelf to make room for the Xbox, then putting the 360 in its place, and the Wii where the 360 is now. My flat just isn't big enough for all this stuff!

            My gaming corner:

The sofa's further away from the tv unit than it looks in the photo, strange perspective.

what do you guys do with your old TVs?

do you guys sell it off or just wait for a needy friend to come along?
I have a Sharp LC37GD9E which is great but lacks 1080p. I want to sell it and get the LC-37GE1E.

Anyone have any suggestions on selling? I've only had the GD9E for 2month

1080p is overrated. I've had a GE1E and returned it, as I wasn't happy with the response time. (and other issues) Although if you're happy with the GD9 you might like the GE1E.

I say stick with what you've got and buy something better a year or so from now once there's a decent amount of 1080p content, and manufacturers have a lot of the issues sorted. (I'm sure prices will plummet too)

Argos 'natural' coloured sofa bed no? (just set one up myself in our spare room this weekend to replace the old double bed for guests!)

Great set up BTW, that's amazingly minimalist! I like it!

My plan is to hold on to thsi screen for another year or so, by which time 1080p screens will more more commonplace with a better selection to choose from. Then this one will just stay as my secondary PC screen.
