Chuffed with the TV - 1080p over HDMI with no overscan (1:1) - this will last me forever.

i've completed my setup with the purchase of a projector and screen. it's a Panasonic PT-AX100E and works great so far. it's super quiet, has excellent brightness and next to no visible pixels.

HDTV screen:
16:9 format, black frame
size: 2.4 x 1.35 metre
1.0 gain

projector specs:
3 x 0,7" LCD TFT Panel
HDTV 720p (1080p/24 compatible)
2000 ANSI Lumen
6000:1 contrast
HDMI input
25 dB

i can only highly recommend this device to everyone slightly interested in home cinema and/or very big screen gaming

a successor, the PT-AX200, is already out and has got a special game mode too. if it's worth the extra money i don't know as the basic specs seem to be identical to the PT-AX100.

Thanks, I am pretty pleased with it. The main thing is it came with the wife's seal of approval. We've also got a nipper on the way soon so with the glass front it should prove to be a good choice for the next few years!

The only downside is the 360 tends to get quite hot after about an hour. Still if I leave the door down everything cools down pretty quickly. It's all good!

I've been trying to find a decent unit to put everything on with a "back-plate" so you can't see cables and the like. The one you've got AllYourBase is really nice.

I'm, hopefully, getting a bonus from work soon so I think I know where a percentage of it will be going now

it's basically my living room and it's 24 square meters in size. i'll attach a pic that gives you an idea of the back of the room.

projectors and screens have become so affordable i really wonder why anyone having the space should bother with a big flat TV nowadays

I'm ordering a 40" LCD for the play/games room, and I am torn between the Sony KDL-40W2000 (?900) or the Samsung LE40M87BD (?890).

I figure it would be nice with 1080p, and the Pio plasma takes care of TV and SD stuff in the lounge.

Is this the M87?

Can you take some pictures of games/films? (Only HD stuff, as the screen will not be used for tv)

I have a 40" M87 (only difference is a silver strip) and its sublime for movies and most games. BD movies on this screen are incredible!!Reason i say most games is i dont like playing FPS on to big a screen as i find it easier to see everyone better on a smaller screen.
