Given how easy nyzul weapons are to unlock compared to Dynamis ones, I'm quite surprised this is the first we're hearing of it.
All it takes is floor 100 completion and you're set - given how the static I'm in has already made it to about 80 on 2 (?) disks with a less than ideal job setup, I'm sure there are plenty of players out there who've accomplished more.

You've really not been keeping up have you
Mythic weapons are quite difficult to fully unlock. You need to have:
Defeated Odin in Einherjar
Defeated all 4 Salvage Chariot Bosses
Defeated all 3 Aht Urghan Beastman Kings
Acquiried an item costing 100,000 ampoules of Theriun Iquor (Einherjar currency)
Acquired an item worth 150,000 Nyzul Isle tokens
Clear all 50 Assault missions for a second time
Obtained 30,000 Alexandrites

Crock of **** - I thought it was just Nyzul completion, all that BS sounds worse than Dynamis unlocking
Obviously that just deals with the number of WS activated needed.
Let's hope SE don't **** up this much with their new MMO

Its a complicated affair this Mythic lark (unsuprisingly), what they've one is split the weapon unlock from the WS unlock. It is however somewhat more doable than the Dynamis weapons were a mere 90 million will see you sorted for Alexandrite and the rest is just fighting ^^.
And their next MMO will have gear like this, its the character of SE games. If you want the big stuff it takes a while, like FFX, clearing was easy unlocking all the celestial weapons, killing all the dark aeons and the rest took longer.

I wouldn't mind all this effort involved to unlock the weapons but it needs to be a fair system.
With the case of FFX, that works because the system works - there's no chinese gil sellers around to **** with you, and obtaining large amounts of gil is as easy as killing a mob or something like that.
One thing SE could do to help would be to make BC and KSNMs more viable - there should be two ways to significantly earn gil - those who like to adventure should be rewarded just as appropriately as those who like to craft all day, as is the case with near enough every other mmo on the market.
I'm sure SE want their next project to stand up there against the likes of WoW, but the bottom line is, that changes need to be made - more of the same will NOT pull in the crowds.
(I like the way you call 90 million "mere" btw lol)

I don't see them picking on players that are currently in linkshells, unless they move across entire linkshells.
Of course, the sensible idea would be to invest our monthly fees into improved server hardware, rather than shallow content over a 2-3 month period.
The word sensible however doesn't appear to compute with a company like SE

Well, it cost most of my gil, but bought a new toy for my RNG.
About the 5th piece of lvl70 gear for my RNG that I still can't equip but hopefully will level up to around 72 over Christmas.
This means I now have the Kriegsbeil/Francisca for general /nin usage (with a Hawker's+1 for any extra accuracy situations) and Vulcan's Staff + Axe Grip combo for Ranged Attack/STR builds. Just need a Hellfire+1 and all standard weapon options sorted (barring Relic and lolMythic weapons obviously). A couple of specialist weapon choices too (i.e. Repeating Crossbow) but will sort them at 75 s they are very specific use items.
Moot's return means I also need to fund my own Terra's Staff now XD
