      Heh, didnt think about that.

Ive updated my last post with some other stuff you might want to read.

LS is a Linkshell its like a private chat room for us all to talk in no matter were in the world you are.

We are on Seraph, and you will need a world pass to join us. Which it will as you for when you create your character. If im in a town tonite ill pick you one up and post it on here, if not im sure one of the other guys will post one. hint hint....

As for job and race, thats totally up to you and half the fun of it with there being so many jobs to unlock and play. Just remember you can change your job if you dont like it but not your race!!

Damm i wish i was a TaruTaru, loads of Mp!!!!

One other quick point, if you plan on playing tomorrow be warned it will most likley take you about 2 to 3 hours to setup from scratch.

First piece of advice, burn the guide and unlearn everything it has taught you. It really is quite poor. The vast majority of information it contains can be described, at best, as being misleading and in the worst cases downright wrong.

When you think about how often this game is updated (usuaully every 2 months), a printed guide quickly becomes oboslete.

The only choice you have to make at the start is your race and country, country decides what national mission you can go on before rank 3 and after gaining rank6.

Race is divided up between 5 races,
Humans ? balanced, excels in no stats
Taru ? Excels in magic , poor tanking
Elvaan ? Excells in Melee, Tank, best STR/INT, poor mp pool
Mithra ? Acc/dex/agi excels in thief and ranger type jobs,
Galka ? Excels in Vit/HP and in Melee and tanking, low chr, int,mp pool

But all negatives and be overcome with equipment and player skill.

Job Classes can be changed at anytime on your character with no penalties, you start with the basic 6 (warrior, monk, thief, white, red, black mage) and can open up ?advanced jobs? via quests to a grand total of 18 jobs.

Cool cheers for the advice guys, Hey DJTickle, i'm a fellow Boltoner too!

Is there a specific race that the group on here is lacking in?

            Comment

I can't think of any Mithra at all (but Mithra are female only which might explain that).. Tobal is the only Galka, there's always been a lot of Humes and we've had a surge of tarutaru's lately. There's two or three Elvaan that I can think of.

Elvaan really, really wind me up. Everything is so over the top with them - even something as basic as fishing has to be done one handed, with the other hand on their hip like a ponce. They only use one hand when riding a chocobo. They twirl their weapons when they draw them... and you should see the state of an Elvaan casting a spell! The game script isn't too kind to them either, san d'oria is full of arrogant tossers.

You need to clear San d'Oria Rank 10

I feel that the cutscenes for that held greater significance with my character being a Hume.

Linkshell its basically a way we can all chat in game in an open forum. If you come to Seraph (where we all are) we will give you a pearl so you can talk to us from anywhere in the game world.

As for character paly what you like, in FFXI its not fixed you can change your job anytime and keep the level you reached on the previous one. Go experimetn and find what you like most, races have greater strengths for some jobs but they won't stop you playing everything if you chose to.

If you decide to get online leave a message here and someone will get you a worldpass to get you onto Seraph.
