Final Fantasy XIV Then...

Just wondering what's considered a playable benchmark score for the game, with reasonable visuals.

Ran it the other day, got around 1500 or so but the video played quite smoothly and only identified my Intel graphics display driver as opposed to my Nvidia one which leads me to believe that the score was inaccurate.

Might fire the game up if it'll give me half decent performance.

I dunno. I'm still struggling to get into it mate.

So I packed in my new character and instead jumped on my old one (A rank 19 Thaumaturge, Sarianna Calderan now for those wanting to add to friend list etc).

I'm still in this phase where I don't know what I should be doing to progress. Yes, they've added side quests into the game but they're still so very few and far between. This leaves progress up to grinding mobs which I'm finding are giving pitifully low amounts of experience points for my rank, and levequests just like old which I'm limited to 8 every 36 hours.

What's the correct way to be progressing from here?

This was the best solution I could come up with too, was pretty funny when the Suitors started spawning though and everyone started bricking it

How was your MP situation for the Boss, mine lasted quite awhile, spiritbind and tranquility kept me going for the majority but when the 2nd large add came along I was pretty much empty, tried to rest abit and get some back but then everything got too hectic.

I don't know if there are any abilities from THM that have MP refresh or anything, but I feel I need something to give me a boost.

I find once your in a decent linkshell opportunities to rank up seem to just happen, group leve parties with leve linking is good, also these dungeons are good too, i've gained a few ranks just from doing this one dungeon, also once you get to busier camps Behest is usually good for xp.

Need to get you a linkpearl and we'll do some leve parties.

Dara, its hard to say really but there is a fair bit of settings you can adjust on the full game, so if you found the benchmark acceptable then you should be ok, but you probably will want to drop some of the settings, seeing as you can probably pick the game up pretty cheap it might be worth a try, plus subscription is still free.

One thing to note is even higher end Graphics cards still struggle in places on the game, entering new zones, especially cities it gets a bit scrappy in the frame rate, I think its due to loading to memory as it smoothes out once you have been in the area awhile, also weather effects drop my fps noticably too, I guess only way to tell is to try it.

Just learnt something new which i had seen before but never knew how it worked, Buju has just shown me how Battle Regimen which is sort of like a skillchain but you don't need to time it. All you need to do to start it is either you a TP ability or an offensive spell while holding shift and an icon will appear over its head, then everyone else does the same thing. After a while it will automatically use the abilities which will increase the amount of damage it does and i think it can also give debuffs.

Thought this might be something useful for the last boss so we can bring him down faster.

Moot was kind enough to give one to my Archer, and Repp gave one to my Goldsmith.

I'm going to be packing in all my characters now and just levelling the Archer. Already got it to almost R14 in one night so hopefully the grind will carry me further.

Just to let folks know I'm still alive, extremely busy at the minute; me and my girlfriend are moving out in 2 weeks so not stopped for days. Hopefully be on sometime in the week.

Have found quite alot which have drops some of us could use, alot of these NM's could probably be beaten now, me Rare and Moot have tacked a R37 NM already.

One NM The Prince of Pestilence drops a nice R35 Seers Cowl which seems good, also Kokoroon Quickfingers drops a nice R35 Bow and R35 Chainmail for GLD/MRD

Its worth taking a look through them and finding any you want to do, spawn timers are short so no long waiting between battles, drop rates are quite low but spawn rate makes up for it.
