My cruddy MegaDrive came through the post this morning. Couple of hours later and I've fitted the language and 60hz switches! w00t!

Now all I need are some proper games and an RGB scart cable (waiting for parts).

Sorry for the crappy flash pictures.

(Thanks to hellbelly and his mmmonkey guides!)

That does look good Are the switches glued into place?

Yes, they are. My friend didn't have the brackets.

I just hope the Jap switch works, because they're surprisingly tough to remove!

            Drumroll, please. We have RGB!

            The home-made cable:

Above you can see Fifa 96 running in colour and 60hz. I used an old GAMEware GameCube RGB scart cable and hellbelly's mmmonkey guide.

              Hi

We created the speccy games bible which I enjoyed collating all the reviews but because of potential legal problems we dropped all the magazine reviews and then advertised for people to write reviews for us.

You get paid 50p per review (or it can go to charity or it can be free !) and a fair few people have done okay out of it, eg 10 quid for 20 reviews of games you enjoy playing isnt bad.

We had a good feature in Retro Gamer a few months ago and sold a few at the Retro Fusion event in the UK. We dont make much on each book as its print on demand at lulu (They take most of the money) but we just want to break even.

Personally i love reading about Speccy games and after Andrew Rollings great book i wanted more and more so we started on our own series.

Books 1 and 2 are out and Book 3 (1987-1988) will be out in a few weeks. Now working on 1989-1990. There'll be 6 books in total. Theyre smaller than the original Speccy Games Bible which was a bit too big.

Its had a good response from people, the new book (Book 3) is currently at 420 pages and has over 350 reviews !

PM me if you want to contribute, theres still reviews which are free for people to reserve.

              Cheers

At least without a controller I can savour each part as it slips into place.

Found the above: 50p for FIFA 96 at an indie, £3 for Super Monaco GP and Sonic at Gash Converter and £5 for the 3 remaining at Pink Planet. They're all in pretty good condition, with manuals, especially Sonic 1 & 2 and Puggsy.

It was the Psygnosis logo that got me interested in Puggsy, the lad behind the desk said it was good.

Another one bites the dust (plus Sports Talk 93 Classic is on the way also).

Only King of Monsters, Talespin (argh!) and Robocop VS Terminator to go!

                              Today's arrivals.

After being so impressed by the Hori PC Commander I went searching and found this version for the Mega Drive for $2.99.

Also on Mega CD Warau/Laughing Salesman, looks completely whack, haven't been able to try it yet.

                              For Yakumo.

A couple of fillers for the PCE collection.

Then a very nice complete Ys I&II

Lastly The Lost Sunheart from I'Max, a very nice HuCard horizontal shooter. Will get a proper playtest soon.

@monomaniacpat, if you need a Mega Drive controller just PM me your address and I'll stick one in the post to you tomorrow.

The laughing salesman is a pretty funny anime. Great haul there.
