If space is limited you can rip your CD games into combined iso/wav/cue (pointless as it won't save much space, if any) or iso/ogg/cue (Temper - the PCE emu - doesn't support mp3) which is a pain in the arse to do so you're best off downloading in this case. I've seen a torrent at *hint* an Underground Gaming site that is specifically aimed at Wiz users and has games ripped in iso/ogg/cue format.

Obviously Hu-Card games will need to be obtained from a ROM site unless you have the hardware to dump them yourself.

If you do decide to take the plunge I'd be willing to help you get it up and running but to be quite honest, it's not difficult at all.

Haha! If ever there was a first paragraph to convince me NOT to buy something that was it! I have no idea what any of that means! Thankfully you stuck that sentence on the end..................

Making a bin/cue rip is as easy as installing Magic ISO, popping a CD game in the drive and selecting 'create image file from CD'. Forgive me for using jargon mate.

Also, go here for a few vids of a Wiz in action.

I'm the Victor Meldrew of gaming mate, i just want to plug it in and hey presto! I had a GP32 or whatever it was called years ago, it got thrown at a wall one day in frustration if i remember rightly.

Would you say the emulation of PCE was perfect? I've seen PCE running on emu's before and it's been pretty cack. I was bored yesterday and tried magic engine for the first time ever with some of my CD's, was very impressed with the video quality, but thre still seemed to be a lot of sound issues. So i remain still to be sold on running on anything but original hardware.

PCE emulation on the GP2X was perfect but last time I tried it on the Wiz, it wasn't all that brilliant, strangely.

Well it's comparable to Mednafenx-PCE for the Xbox (never really got into PC emulation so I can't compare) minus the CD bug I mentioned before, an apparently Mednafen, the PC version, pisses on Magic Engine so make of that what you will. I think you'd be impressed by the performance of Temper -- I certainly was.

Did you use Temper or some other emu? It's played the handful of CD and HuCard games I've thrown at it so far perfectly.

Hmmm, i'll wait untill Garry buys one then make him review PC-Engine performance for me!

On another note, the minty AES i bought came with one of those kidney shape sticks. It is starting to grow on me, but i prefer the original, and this just arrived 5 minutes ago.........

I used Temper but I have to admit it's been a while since I fired it up so I might be using an old version.

I'm awfully tempted, but the controls don't sound too hot from what you told me.

Apart from that Dingoo, what other emu goodie handhelds also go head to head with this at the moment?

                            Thanks for those reviews, Duddy!

I had an original GP32 and although it was great, I felt it was limited as it could only replicate the 8bit era correctly.

After a brief run through of those systems I'm quite taken with the A320.

I just wanted to ask, are their new emulators for it, as you mentione that their is screen tearing with the one supplied and what's support like for it? If it's quite good, I might pick one up for the new year.

The Pandora is going to blow them all away, when it eventually arrives, that is. They're testing the boards at the moment prior to assembling the parts and shipping, and if the stars are in alignment we might get them before Santa arrives.

None worth mentioning -- those are the two that are most actively supported by dev communities. There is this, but whether it ever sees the light of day or not is another issue:
