Seriously, that's like Holy Grail... It's making me want to spend my next wage (AKA my go to Japan and play Mario Kart GP/visit designer stores in Ginza money because I'm a Student and my dad pays my bills still) on my own Earthbound (without sticker residue just to 1-up Shozuki :P).

Yeah man!! totally though I do my best to get that as good condish as poss without having to go down the sealed route!

Next one I paid silly money for is Vampires Kiss PAL SNES, I know its not even that good - but I love the 'Vania's generally!

I do love them minty too don't get me wrong.

Vampires Kiss is a solid game, not the best Castlevania game but if you love the series well worth it.

I fully intend to find/buy a sealed Japanese Yoshi's Island and then open/play it :S

Is that the height of hedonism?

Going to be a lot less than a sealed PAL copy.

I leave the sealed games for people crazy enough to buy sealed games. I don't want to feel guilt when playing the thing!

Yeah, a minty copy is still gonna be a lot less than a sealed copy. Bit silly, perhaps.

The price on Earthbound, especially CIB with the scratch 'n sniff stickers unused, has utterly jacked up in the last couple of years. My money is on because it's never gonna make the VC, so the only way to play it in English on proper hardware is via the US release (or Powerpak et al with ROMs). $500 for a complete copy has become common place, and loose cartridges command $60-80 in themselves.

Me? I'm just glad I bought my CIB version about 6-7 years ago, minor surface tear on the back of the box, for the princely sum of $75.

Along with both Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger, it's another example of demand, not rarity, making a value skyrocket. However it's exceeded any of those games.
