Looks in good condition Baseley09, which is more than I can say for this one. Rip on the cover art contrary to assurances from the seller. CBA to return it though as it was only a few quid. The cart didn’t work at first but does now thanks to a bit of elbow grease.

Similar story with Mario v DK MLM above. Luckily, I’ve been refunded by Vinted and (so far) buyer hasn’t asked me to post it back. Maybe he felt he got a good deal, as that was a bundle.

I think my DS cart slot is in a bit of a state and I’ll probably have to replace it along with several other components. I bought a mic replacement but sadly this didn’t work when I installed it. May have to, as suggested on Discord, get a DSI from Japan!

Good news is I have a certain high-ish value OG Xbox game on its way to me. 🤞🏻

The sight of Polarium and Meteos deffo takes me back to the mid-2000s. Fun puzzle games. Using the stylus and touchscreen was so novel then.

I ought to do the same. Want to play something? I have about 200 games at this point?

Booyah! My stubbornness finally paid off and now Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is in my possession once more, pride of place in my collection. I thought I missed out when the game recently went for less than the usual amount (£80+) but I kept on bidding and got this one for a mere £55+p&p.

This is kind of retro, i managed to snag one of these "new" speccys. Was on the fence originally as i already have a fully paid up copy of the spectaculator emulator on pc which is pretty awesome and i use it for whenever i play speccy games. However as good as it is the emulator doesn't let you play ula plus games with the enhanced palettes. When i found out that this new speccy has support for ula plus palettes i thought it would be a nice way to play speccy stuff on the tv however it has pretty much sold out everywhere in the uk and some clown is trying to ask £167 for one on amazon uk. However amazon germany seems to have them in stock so i have grabbed it from there instead means i'll have a nasty usk logo on the box and i don't think it comes with the mini crash magazine like the uk ones but i'll take paying the normal cost instead.

it'll be like back when i was in my teens and i spent the 1990 xmas period playing magicland dizzy

Nice. The Speccy homebrew scene is phenomenal. Didn’t expect that er mini Spectrum to support ULA+ that’s a real bonus.

Yeah caught me off guard too, was when I watched a reviewer go through all settings and there it was. I agree it’s amazing some of the new home brew stuff people are making some of it almost looks too good to be running on the humble speccy. Imagine taking those games back to the 80’s would put a lot of software companies out of business compared to some of the stuff that was released back then.

will look forward to filling a usb stick with a nice custom curated list of my faves as well as having every single dizzy game on there thats a must have for me.

Last one of these for the year, I swear...

El Viento is the recent reprint, just to clarify. Then there's this, which I've not yet opened...

What comes in the big Taito box apart from the SD card with the software?

I like that you got the Namco rotary controller, that looks fun. I think your Electroplankton needs adjusting btw, it should be a single plankton showing through the lil round window on the cardboard box

Oh wow that’s wicked. I always love the look of that old Micomsoft hardware. What games is that intended for in Vol 3 specifically?

If i remember correctly it works with top landing the flight sim in vol 3 but it also works with night striker from the previous volume and operation wolf. Also works on the megadrive mini as well. The thing weighs a ton i got one of them in the vol 2 cyberstick set same sized box but purple. The sticks are neat as you can twist the bases and they lift out of the unit and you can unplug the cable and swap it over to the other side.

just one last final arrival of the year, keyboard of 48k a bit fiddly to get around as i grew up with a plus 3 but i discovered my switch hori RAP works for a stick so i can mostly get around with that although the button mapping for all options ect is all over the place but i have remembered which one is fire at least. Now to load a usb up with all my fave speccy games.
