Yeah sounds like clickbait or algorithm-promoted twaddle.

The Saturn community has become accustomed to fans creating translations for Japan-exclusive games and inserting them via patches. But it’s not every day that an official translation is found…
Folks started to poke around the code for the Saturn port of Kingdom Grandprix to check for viability to fan translate it, and find... the game already had an English translation hidden beneath the surface. They've figured out how to switch it in, have tidied up some of the language used, and are releasing a patch shortly.

Death Crimson 2, been given alittle bit more than the usual translation including a hacked dream browser to load up the bonus content. I still have DC lightgun from the Hotd2 box but no CRT(or room) to play it, as i go through my retrotink (plus i certainly remember having problems in the deep past with none-pal lightgun games on my DC, like cd-r for the sega 007-like game not working with it)

In other news the sega powered saga seems to have taken a dark twist the website (had to remove link as sega power have lost the domain and it now links to a dodgy site) is now telling people who lost money to report it as fraud.Last edited by slicer1000; 06-11-2024, 17:22.

It was a magazine about retro Sega that people seemed to rate highly. I think a few people here bought a copy or two. Then after just a few months it went bust and vanished, leaving a lot of people who'd paid for annual or longer subscriptions hanging.
Seems like whoever owns the domain now (presumably not the people who setup Sega Powered) is sick of people contacting them asking for refunds, which is probably why they've put that message up.

I know Sega Power from back in the 80s. It was a pretty poor Sega Magazine that would have very blocky screen shots. I remember in one issue they mentioned that they use video capture software that gives a true look of the game while other magazines just point a camera at the screen.
I'm not sure what capture device they were using in the late 80s / early 90s but it sure made games look like ass.

A shame as the 2 issues I picked up were great fun & clearly made with love. Would love to know why the owners just vanished into thin air. I guess as they had several writers, eventually, the story will come out.
