Projected price $300, projected launch this November (!)

What lunatic would use composite or s-video? I guess if the console doesn’t output rgb or in US where scart isn’t a thing.

Old micros. C64 will do svideo, Vic only composite. Devices like the Tandy machines have easy composite mods but not RGB. So, composite and svideo are welcome additions.

PixelFX have announced price and release date for the Morph 4K: $400, orders open the 24th of November, release in between Q1 and Q2 next year. There will be a special price of $350 until Black Friday.
It's considerably cheaper than the RT4K, but this only has HDMI input (without an expansion that will come out later) and it's more of an additional link in an existing setup rather than a complete replacement like the RT4K. And PixelFX are really trying to pair it with their other products, which could potentially drive the final price higher than the RT4K.
Still, it'll be interesting to see how the RT4K and the Morph 4K will compare on HDMI-capable consoles.

Your personal 4K upscaler is here. This is the Morph 4K, a true next gen 4K modular video upscaler for your setup. The Morph 4K converts low resolution HDMI sources (up to 1080p input), to 4K HDMI at 60hz and 4:4:4 color resolution. Out of the box the Morph 4K is HDMI input and HDMI output, but expansion cards can change the role of the Morph in your setup and add features based on your needs. Add in the upcoming Analog Bridge expansion module for high quality composite, s-video, scart, component, and VGA support. Or make the Morph 4K the central hub for all your video routing and processing with the Analog-Digital Crosspoint expansion module, which has both analog inputs AND outputs allowing you to simultaneously scale analog/digital inputs to both analog and digital video outputs. The Morph 4K is perfect to give your current setup the visual boost it needs, without having to waste your current hardware's capabilities. Use the Morph 4K to re-scale your current HDMI devices and get native 4K scaling quality, or downscale modern games for a Retro Demake effect. If connected to a console with Game-ID support you can show off your gameplay status on apps like Discord. The SD card can be used for profiles, updating, and other extended file support. With the USB-A serial peripheral control port, your Morph 4K can better integrate into your setup by being able to communicate with future switching devices like the Infinity Switch. With the Retro G.E.M. you can communicate non-video information like Game-ID for per game settings or use the console controller to navigate the Morph 4K menu. You can also use the Morph 4K to control Retro G.E.M. video settings automatically. We are currently looking into extending Game-ID support to non Retro G.E.M. devices as well. Valve have updated Half Life for it's 25th Anniversary (How old are we / I getting?) in a very nice and sympathetic update.

Half-Life is back and better than ever. Alongside interviews with the original developers, the game is now available with the Uplink mini-campaign, Steam Deck support, updated graphics settings, new multiplayer maps, and bonus restored goodies.

Also, I love they've reverted the Beretta and M16 to their original Glock and MP5 originals. Nice little detail, before they updated them for Blue Shift.

I thought I'd posted this but I hadn't, an independent game is getting a physical MD release - it's already been on PC and Switch as Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon's Fist. It's in the vein of Irem's Kung Fu Master/Spartan X.

There was a trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XYNtcUBG0I

And you can pre-order on Amazon Japan here for 6800 Yen: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0CHVQHGLK

I've had the Columbus Circle MD releases of Metal Stalker and Darius Extra and they're good (bar the non-bevelled cartridges), but I'm not sure about this one - game looks decent but nothing mind-blowing. Might have a think about it.

Yuzo Koshiro has stuck some footage up of Ancient's new game Earthion over on his Twitter (nobody calls it X): https://twitter.com/yuzokoshiro/stat...87936890777608

Looks really nice, shame the cartridge distribution is being handled by something to do with Limited Run Games (I'm not a fan of them). Still, if it ends up being available and not price-gouged I think I'll get it.

Some nifty effects in that demo footage. Hope the game holds up.

No widescreen support? I know they’re probably going for authenticity, but still. I’m ready to buy new hardware just for that. <3

                          That's cool.

For anyone who doesn't want to watch, basically it's a 3D printed Neptune shell based on the few photos we saw of the planned machine, combined with original MD2 and 32X hardware modded into a single unit inside.

The design of the Neptune was actually pretty nice. Insane how much hardware they were trying to push around this time though. By 95 SoA was attempting to market the Saturn, Genesis, Nomad and Game Gear in tandem, with a fraction of the marketing and advertising budget of Sony and Nintendo. They were also sitting on truly horrifying amounts of unsold and unwanted stock. It's kind of interesting how much 32X software can be worth today considering in the mid 90s Sega literally had warehouses filled with hundreds of thousands of unsold copies.

I guess they were eventually destroyed leading to the scarcity of many of those titles today.

Eliminate Down's the latest pricey MD title to get an authorised reprint https://retro-bit.com/eliminate-down/

Appreciate that they're making them clearly distinct from the originals, but cannot say I'm a fan of the luminous cart. Price tag is definitely making it a tempting pickup, though.
