Yeah it looks sick, I've wanted this for so long and to see it available in some form is just amazing.

Not news, but I was saddened to learn this week that John Wilson of Zenobi had passed away last year. Played lots of his games on my old Speccy. RIP.

Very cool, shame they won't be doing the full game but it's understandable.

Will be great to see what the homebrew community can do with that engine once it’s matured and opened up to everyone.

Holly crap, that was unexpected and extremely cool. That Saturn had so much untapped potential it seems.

I was on a YouTube tangent recently watching someone restore an older Macintosh computer and learned about BlueSCSI. I was wondering if this could be used as an alternative to SCSI2SD which can be fairly expensive depending on where you buy from. I think I'll be picking up a BlueSCSI for my CPS3 at some point.

All your retro SCSI and PCB needs in one place. New stuff for old tech.

I saw this tonight and thought it may be an alternative to the SCSI2SD on CPS3. I have bought one to test and will document my experience here. https://scsi.blue/ This is a completely open source solution (they provide Gerbers so you can order your own PCBs) or you can buy an already built...

Dead simple to get set up, well pleased for 30 quid. More information on prepping the MicroSD card here.

Ok, making this commitment now. When I'm back after my holiday next week, I test my CPS3. If it's not dead, I get the battery replaced, and then I look into doing this too. Obvs I'm buying a pre-made version though, I've not totally lost the plot

The lengths I'd go to save £12.

I'll hold you to that fuse. If it is suicided then you should be able to send it off to a guy in the States for a fee of $55 + shipping to install the UltraBIOS code on it. Not as good as a pure unit but a working CPS3 is better than one that is non operational eh?

Fingers crossed it is all good still.

I’ll just put my feet up and wait for the MiSTer core.

Sega Powered is sadly being downscaled from once every month or two to just occasional publication, citing the fact it is not economically viable to keep churning them out:

A real shame as I read a lot of “new” print magazines such as Zzap Amiga, Pixel Addict, Ninty Fresh, Switch Player etc and this is by far my favourite and definitely the most professional.

Good news is the same publishers are working on a new indie mag which they hope will provide enough revenue to continue making Sega Powered:

If you’re a fan of retro and mags from back in the day then I would highly recommend snapping up an issue or two of Sega Powered whilst you still can. Gives me the warm fuzzies whenever I see that A4 brown enevelope on my doormat.

PSIO firmware has been cracked. With his usual savoir faire, the developer replied that this will set back the release of an official firmware even more...it has only been five years since the last update, so no hurry.

Personally I went straight into Xstation when it was released, it's light years ahead of PSIO.
