I had my one up for sale, but having given it a bit of use again recently I've decided to keep it. Lovely wee systems.

I genuinely don't know how much time I'd realistically dedicate to one, especially among all of the other handheld-capable stuff I already have. It'd just be a nice thing to have I suppose.

Ancient are knocking up a horizontal shooter for the Mega Drive as confirmed by one-man "The Shamen" tribute act Yuzo Koshiro, who is going to be doing the music. It sounds as though it is not a bullet hell title and will be more like shooters of the period. They are considering selling it on cartridge.

Nice. I much prefer an old school shooter to a bullet hell one. Looking forward to this. Hoping for a true quality soundtrack as well.

I'd only just got up and was ready to head to work when I saw the news so only got time to quickly post that - but I'm very excited by it. It's one thing for somebody to be doing a decent-looking MD homebrew, but Ancient were a top-tier developer on that system and really knew how to squeeze every last drop out of it. Hope they do it justice!

Someone needs to buy Yuzo Koshiro a PVM for Christmas.

Partial roms for Ridge Racer full scale have been around years now and working using hacked in graphic roms from standard Ridge Racer, here's some progress on a graphically correctly RRFS so the Mazda works in game, i think the point of video was him working on getting the speedo's to work.

Looks like Picostation could end up being a much more cost effective alternative to the xStation. Think I'd love to go ahead with an install in a spare console just for comparison sake and because it should cost next to nothing.

This is really cool - one of the original video tapes used for the AS-1 simulator ride 'Scramble Training' at Segaworld has been found at a car boot sale, digitised, and uploaded to YouTube:

It stars none other than Michael Jackson and you can enjoy all of his corny acting and the early 3D graphics here:

                            Finally a decent Wavebird replacement?
