Yeah, this is old news. There's nothing special hardware wise. The internal HDD was blank and the Actual Saturn part was a stock Saturn.

I remember one of the YouTube pox people having a thumbnail of them holding up a Pluto a year or two back, not sure if they actually had one or if it was just edited onto the picture (probably the latter).

Does anyone know what happened to SEGA Powered Magazine?

I was first introduced to them through the excellent Sega Guys Podcast and picked up several issues and they are brilliant. However, all went quiet from them awhile ago and I noticed over the weekend that their URL has gone offline, so I presume the dream is over?

Gutted if so, as I loved their magazines and seems like a great bunch of people.

The SEGA Powered staff have now moved onto a indie mag called Debug. I think they might have taken the site down as they where still getting orders but have not been shipping any issue. I know someone who has been waiting months for issue 7

              Thanks for the info.

It’s interesting you say that as I enjoyed the magazines I read so much, I swear I picked up Issue 7 and then forgot about it. But weeks later I didn’t get anything and that prompted me to go back to the site. However, I can’t remember if I did order an issue or if I imagined it.

Did the person you know pay for the issue but didn’t get a refund? ****ty if so, I’ll have to dig into my account.

Some info on the Mars FPGA console. Aiming for $700 price and release early 2024, able to run MiSTer cores as well as Mars-only cores, JAMMA compatibility included, output up to 4K, swappable controller ports.

Over the past few months the MARS team has been teasing a new FPGA-based system:  Multi Arcade & Retro System.  The concept is similar to the MiSTer, but running on its own custom, more powerful hardware.  They're expecting to launch it early next year at a $700 price point, with all the MiSTer

Probably worth it, to be fair. That controller port is a serial connection and not your usual lousy USB.

This doesn't really offer me much more than my existing MiSTer, probably a little less with the hybrid emulation capability (yuk!), but it looks very nice all the same.

A Ticktock personality told me to buy Generic Retro Games HDMI Stick from the ticktock shop it cost £20 and runs much better than any Mister ever could for a fraction of the price, Take Mario for example it runs twice as fast as was originally intended and is optimized for modern TV's by stretching the game graphics to fill the screen by defualt.

Also how are people going to know the above is a gaming device, if you don't make it look like a small PlayStation 5 and included some authentic looking PS5 style controllers, they made it look like a android dodgy box for uncle terry to watch sky sports on.

Given the audience, I feel like the hybrid emulation is a mistake and will do more harm than good. Anyone who is happy with non hardware level simulation can already use a pi.

Making the FPGA better than the de10 nano was a good move though. The first device it can simulate that a de10 cannot will be interesting to see.

I had issue 7 on order for months. I emailed Dean, and DMed on Twitter/X but never got a reply. In the end as I had paid on Credit Card I did a charge back through them. Pretty poor way to wrap things up.

English fan translation for Dead of the Brain! This is a very timely Halloween release. Also great cover art on this, just a shame that if you're after a legit copy of the original, then you're in for an even bigger scare.

Can't see the tweet. I thought DotB had had an English translation for a while? Is this DotB2?
