Watched Devil at the flicks tonight, which looks like is gonna be a series of films by M. Shyamalan, called 'Nights Chronicles'.

Very good. Had a kind of Hitchcocky feel to it & it all kinda linked together well at the end.

Gone Baby Gone - Good flick. Preferred Mystic River.

        Toy Story 3 (2d)
        - Just more Toy Story. Good good.

Grown Ups - Likeable and charming on the surface but most of it is a complete mess. Throughout it I wanted to be watching The great Outdoors.

The Other Guys - Middling at best and completely forgettable. They just through a bunch of filler together and forgot about the fibre.

No where local is showing Inception. ;(

X Men Origins Wolverine - Loved it. I felt it was much better than the other X Men films largely down to the fact that it focuses in on the star of the previous films. I found there was too much going on in the previous films & they got boring fast but this kept me watching.

Run Fat Boy Run - watched it a few yrs back & wasnt that impressed, but just seen it again & I've changed my mind it is a genuinely great film, if a little american with the story.

^I remember watching RFBR at the cinema, an elderly couple walked out during the bit where he's scratching his crotch on the shop dummy, it was proper funny how huffy and 'offended' they looked, it overshadowed the rest of the film, much as we enjoyed it.

Just watched Café Flesh again, got to be the most awesome 'porno' ever, it's proper porno but never feels like it's a porno, even though it actually is, I can rewatch it like I can Goodfellas and A Clockwork Orange. Wish I was still a pothead, it's basically a film made of jazz and it would be even better watched under that mindstate.

Watched The Hole at the cinema yesterday and really enjoyed it. One of the few kids films that could genuinely freak a child out and doesn't condescend them. Nice edgy atmosphere throughout

Iron Man 2. It was alright, but it suffers from what I know as 'Lethal Weapon Syndrome'.. which is to say 90% of the dialogue consists of two characters talking simultaneously and saying nothing of any interest whatsoever. I guess it's supposed to be witty and cute, but it drives me up the wall.

Had a pile of blu rays arrive saturday, but only watched a couple, as I prefer to watch them at night when it's nice and dark.

Terminator salvation:- Hadn't seen it before, and to be honest I hadn't expected much from it. Actually ended up quite liking it though, the only real downside for me was Christian Bale's silly gruff voice at times. Didn't know about the Arnie terminator turning up in it, so that was quite fun.

Sherlock Holmes:- I've avoided this for quite a while, due to an absolute hatred of Jude Law. It wasn't awful, but I don't think i'd be in any rush to ever watch it again. An English accent coming out of Robert Downey jr's mouth is just all wrong, no matter how much I like the guy. And Law, as predicted, was absolutely awful. There's something about the guy that just really irks me (On top of his rubbish acting). It was all pretty predictable Guy Ritchie stuff.

                  And on telly....

Predator:- Still awesome. No matter how many times I see it.

Well yesterday was spent indoors all day didn't venture outside once and watched a mixture.

                    Started off with:

The Karate Kid-Original wax on wax off version, still awesome.

                    Moved on to:

Avatar on b-ri, only the second time I've seen it and enjoyed it in 2d far more than 3d

Finshed with Juno on C4 HD. Wasn't expecting much from this but was pleasantly surprised.

                      Well, I watched:

The Objective - I thought Blair Witch was bad, but this was just boring. This film had a lot of potential & I really wanted it to be good but it just didnt get off the ground & the end was terrible.

Pontypool - I liked this. Original idea with the virus, most was filmed inside in a confined enviroment. Stephen McHattie's voice is perfect for a radio presenter.

300 - What a load of crap. All filmed on a CGI backdrop, because there is no visible sign of that sun in the sky looking like its shining down due to it being so dark all the time.
Spartans & Persians portrayed as only Hollywood knows how - Spartans were super heroes fighting for good, while Persians were portrayed as S&M Bondage perverts who gang f*cked each other senseless, which is totally the opposite to what is actually written about them.
And who's this that I see? Its an Elephant Man/Quasimodo mix spartan!!
After about an hr in I switched off the Homoerotic testosterone load of bollocks

                        Good movie.

Oh & I forgot. I watched Kingpin on TV over the wkend - bloody brilliant film. Seen it a million times & it always cracks me up. Just the small things like him tipping his scalding coffee over the baby, that landlady spitting in her hand to put out a ciggy. It was great to see Murray & Harrelson together in Zombieland. Bloody brilliant stuff! Kind find it on DVD anywhere tho

Res Evil Afterlife - I should have known better. Actually had a very good opening sequence (girl standing in rain), then went to ****. And stayed there. Made no sense.

The Town - unsure on this. It was OK, certainly nothing more, but lots of people are really hyping it up. It's a heist movie that you've seen a hundred times before.

The Fountain - for about the fifth time. Awesome film

Miami Vice - another I've seen plenty of times. Have it on BR, alas it's not the same version I last saw (which I'm guessing was the DC) so it lacked a few things I liked. Still an awesome film.
