I'm surprised and perhaps even confused. Carry on then, gentlemen!

I thought it well directed, but also complete bollocks.

        Just saw Captain America.

It's been shot in hilarious smooth digital so the action scenes look like Saturday morning stuff. Benji Zax and the Alien Prince sprung to mind on more than one occasion

Loved it, though, and the skinny sfx were freaky.

Watched TinTin. A very speilbergian family film, some awesome action/chase sequences and very much in keeping with the tintin feel. The Visuals were amazing and often quite beautiful, at times it looked totally real.
Also the 3D was suprisingly comfortable.
TinTin's dialogue was pretty atrocious, often him just thinking out loud, but I'm guessing that's for the kid's benefit.

I know this thread's about films you've seen but I'm thinking about watching The Room to see what all the fuss is/was about...

                    13 assassins...

I can only sum it up by saying that it kicks ass.

The prolongued fight scenes are amazing, allbeit far fetched, but still.

The best samurai flick since twilight sebei.

Been meaning to watch that for so long. I think it's on LoveFilm player so might check it out later.

I just watched Leon. Hadn't seen it for a while. What a film. Alot of times, when watching a film, I might pick up my phone, check Facebook, text someone, etc. But if the film is really good I will watch it properly. I didn't move an inch for the last 2 hours watching this.

                      Mesmerising.

I went to see The Lion King in 3D yesterday, and my opinion of it now is exactly the same as it was back in 1994 when I was thirteen...

It's an over-rated turd, with annoying characters, and I'd rather be playing Daytona.

I agree with Dave, after being in awe of the computer wizardry in beauty and the beast and the fantastical setting and comedy in Alladin I thought the world had gone nuts when the Lion King came out. I was like WTF this film is ****e and I stand by that statement even today!

I managed to catch Ronin at the right time yesterday for the car chase. Leon was in that too
Such a good action piece though and it makes me sad that a lot of action scenes these days are ruined my too much CGI and not enough proper stunts and real speed.
I suppose Deathproof is the most recent great chase but even that didn't seem as fast, maybe down to the setting as you need more traffic etc to get a sense of the thrill.

I think the story adds a lot more to the tension in a good chase scene. Like in Ronin, the french connection or the Bourne movies. You need to know and care why they're chasing each other. I'd say the same applies to a fight scene as well, emotional content . . . . as Bruce once said
