How has this escaped my attention? Is it a feature-lenght one? I thought their latest was 'Arrietty'/The Borrowers-thing?

I loved Ghibli until Ponyo, that really killed my love of them for some reason :/
I didn't know about it either, although I've only seen Spirited Away and Laputa. And I think Howl's Moving Castle but I can't remember. I did go to the Ghibli Museum for bonus points, though.

A mate had a spare ticket and I snapped it up. Very glad I did. Can't wait to see it again.

      Shrek 4: Final Chapter
Whilst not up to the standards of the first two it's a nice installment and a lovely end to the series on rewatch. Certainly much improved on the abomination of a third installment.

      Fast & Furious
Cracking fun still and well into watching Fast 5 tonight.

      Battleship
Surprised how fun this was. It's dumb and viewers are advised to leave logic at the door but it's a decent action-fest

Himizu - Film set in the aftermath of last year's Tsunami. A 14yo boy is abandoned by his mother and abusive father and who leave him their boathouse, which he shares with some people who lost their homes. He decides to start killing bad guys, all the while being doted on by a stalkery classmate. A bit melodramatic at times but the acting is top-notch. Q&A with one of the actors, DenDen, was bloody hilarious.

"Hello everybody. I am DenDen. I speak English."

I watched The Last Exorcism which was on Channel 4 last night. I didn't set out to watch it but caught the start by chance and decided to keep watching and I'm glad I did. While it's not a brilliant film, it was an original take on the Exorcism film, and the end of the movie was unexpected (on reflection all the signs are there though). 3.5 Skulls out of 5.

Picked up Super 8 the other day. Wasn't expecting much as it was already at a reduced price, but to my surprise it made for pleasant viewing. The cop dad I thought did an excellent job as did the older kid - kept thinking back to the Goonies when he was on screen. The

alien design was top notch too.

              Cabin in the woods

Complete and utter pish... Tries to be a clever set on a scary movie, just leaves you thinking wtf all the way through.

                What???

Cabin in the woods is amazing. The best horror film I've seen in years, I thought it would turn out to be over hyped but the great reviews it's been getting don't even do it justice.

Agree with rmoxon. Thought it was fantastic, what a script. Just got back from seeing it now, thought it was really clever and unique. Helps it was co-written by Josh Whedon. I went into it only knowing its a hit, i stayed well away from the so called spoiler-rific trailers. I would suggest everyone should do the same thing. Some parts had me laugh out loud in a good way.

Watched "In hell" the other day. I actually enjoyed it, lol

I knew some peeps would love Cabin due to the love shown on here for fellow dud Drag Me to Hell. Cabin is, well crap. It barely gets by as a comedy and fails completely as a horror with not a single jump in its run time. Its very Whedon... in a Buffy Season 4 kind of way but predictable and poorly structured throughout.

I went to see The Cabin in the Woods last night and I really enjoyed it too. Not overly serious, lots of fun, pretty much what I hoped it would be.

Alvin and the chipmunks 1, 2 and 3
                          Happy Feet 2
                          Puss 'n' boots

Yes, my children were ill over the holidays. For some reason I enjoyed the Chipmunks films. Puss was ok, and Happy Feet 2 is the biggest load of crap since.. well happy feet 1.

On that theme, the Jimmy Neutron film had me in fits at one point.

He has this robot dog and he says:
"Beg" so it sits on hind legs and does that front legs in the air thing
"Roll over" so it's head spins around
                            "Play dead"

so it blows up and leaves a crater in the floor! (and then reforms itself)

                            I was laughing so much.

Alien 3 ultimate extended, always a superb movie, Charles Dance isn't in enough stuff (at least that I see). I'm a murderer and rapist of women, top line.

Is this the version in the quadrilogy? If so I own it but have never got round to watching it. Maybe I should.
