Saw Watchmen for the first time. I haven't read the graphic novel so had no expectation apart from a lot of fan boys proclaiming that it's 'the best effing graphic novel EVA', however I actually really enjoyed the movie. Yeah so it had its faults and hey I never really found out about how or why some of these kooks were really superheroes but nonetheless I thought it a pretty good movie in its own right. A bit "try hard noir-ish" perhaps, but still I was pleasantly surprised. Thumbs up from me.

This week I watched:
Moon: Good film, enjoyed this alot.
Centurion: I didn't think much of this at all, it was quite a tedious watch, its something about the action that just didn't do it for me.
The Proposal: Not usually my sort of film but this one was alright, very predictable but that didn't stop it being fairly entertaining.

Just watched The Experiment with Forrest Whittaker and Adrien Brody. What an utter pile of sh*t. The most ludicrous plot i've ever seen about a group of blokes who do a prison experiment with some as warders and some as guards for $14k apiece.
You can guess that it descends into anarchy but its so ridiculous its defies belief. The fact the guards get away with so much before the inmates kick off is just stupid. It being an experiment and not real, any normal person would just butt the acting guard the first moment of humiliation and sod the money.
What a waste of two hours

And it's actually based on a true story.

Before Big Brother was aired they showed a prog on the BBC where they tried to re-do the experiment, only this time they had cameras to film it all. Again it didnt go particularly well, but this time the guards werent so sucked into their roles but instead the prisoners went on a mad 1.

Saw Inception at IMAX last night, blew me away and I was gripped by the strot from start to finish. when I got home after a few beers I saw that one of my favourite films of all time was on, so I ended up watching This Is Spinal Tap for the millionth time. It still makes me laugh. I was on a role then so I switched to the Horror Channel to watch this .....
It was ****.

Catched the last hour or so of Wrong Turn 2 the other night, quite enjoyed the cheesiness of it all as I thought it was gonna be all hyper-nasty and grim like Saw or Hostel whereas it was pretty 80s and knockabout in feel. I caught it at the moment when the muscle guy's hanging upside down, and there was me thinking it was some unknown, generic muscle chappie and when he escapes and faces the right way, it's bloody Henry Rollins!! That was pretty good,
though he pegs it right at the end
, guy should be in more actioners now he seems to have quit the music!

^Leon, I think it'd be right up your street. In capsule form, it's like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre with added blood and gristle but without that disturbing sense of menace that TCM had, it's a film where people get minced and you wouldn't bat an eyelid as you chewed your popcorn.
Nice to see you back posting, please bring back the Vanilla Ice L/R alternating avatar, it was was rockin'.
