That's my opinion exactly. If you care enough about changing the look of a film ... be that cropping it, de-graining it, sharpening it .... then you should be free to do it with your own equipment (although I know people that would disagree and don't think people should be able to change the look for themselves at all).

It was nice and detailed ... and if there was any tampering with it (I remember you saying on here that you were were pretty sure it had been processed), then it wasn't blatant and in-your-face.

It looked it to me and Sony said DNR was applied, not wanting to cause a ruckus but I am happy with the Dead Brd's

And I can understand their point too...

It sort of falls flat on it's face unless the director comes around to your house and recalibrates your AV equipment just before you watch the film each time though.

That was the ting about CR they got/paid Martin Campbell to say it looks good

Yeah, if these do it for people then that's cool. I'm not in the business of telling people not to enjoy what a disc looks like because I can see faults with it. But from my perspective it's more examples of why problematic material should often just be left alone.

What are the chances of Harry Potter Years Limited Edition Blu-ray Set (£69:99) not being region free?

Have any of Warner's Blu-rays not been?

I've not seen the last couple of films and this seems like a fair price to me.

Is that the complete series or are there more films/books to follow?

I would say chances of it being region free are quite high as if you look at Movietyme's list of region free Blu-Ray movies there are loads of Warner ones in there. I am also very tempted by this boxset, not only for the films but the actual look of the boxset too. Oh and there will be more films but the books are now finished.

i'm also getting this box set, even though 70 quid is a bit much. Just had halloween the day after tomorrow, vacancy and the transporter turn up. If only my US PS3 was here as well

It's not cheap but it is five films and it looks like a decent set too.

They are selling the newest film for £17:99 which leaves it at £52:00 for the other four films and all the gubbins.

Like I said, not cheap but it's OK for what you're getting...that's what I keep telling myself anyway lol.

What's wrong with your US PS3?

Warner have been quite vocally supportative of region free, so I'd hazard a guess at region free. I think 300 was region free.

It's all 5 films made thus far, of 7 books. It's really interesting to compare the earlier films, which are much scrappier in terms of acting, to the newer ones where the cast has totally got it nailed. I love all of the films, but don't let the earlier ones put you off if you don't take to them.

Nothing, I only ordered it on Tuesday. Decided to sell my UK machine so I could benefit from the better us releases.

Right, I thought it had died or something. Good to hear it hasn't as I don't want the same crap with my PS3 that I've had with my 360(s).

                              Almost non-existent. It's WB

Just watched Con Air on TV...I'd forgotten just how stupid/funny/good this is!!

Does anybody here have it on Blu-ray yet? What's the quality like?

I feel that I should start building up my stupid/funny/good film collection before the Die Hard Blu-rays arrive.

Why the hell wasn't there a follow up to this? Surely Garland Green deserves his own prequel or sequel.
