I'm just out from seeing it. It has completely blown my balls off. I'll be going again.

I saw it last night too - hugely impressive. Wrote a post last night going Into more depth but I deleted it by accident! So will describe more later...

But yes.... I loved it too. I wasnt a fan of superman generally, but this has definitely made me a fan.

I hate Superman. I've always hated the entire concept. This made it much more digestible, as well as being truly epic.

So glad I didn't watch any trailers or build any real hype.

I also hate Russell Crowe, but I bum this film.

If you're a Superman fan you will probably jizz repeatedly and cry at the same time. If you're not a Superman fan you will probably just jizz like I did.

Just got back, the Mrs adores Iron Man etc but for her this completely stole it. For me, being much more into the Superman mythos than her they just absolutely nailed it. I don't know how it will sit with others but for me its better than any of the existing Marvel films or Nolans Dark Knight trilogy. Brilliant balance on all sides, the middling to poor reviews are either missing the point or BS's for traffic. We'll be going to see it again.

The beginning was great though nearly fell asleep in the middle section where it resorted to blowing everything up. Graphics were excellent as was the casting.

Im not a fan of blowing stuff up for the hell of it (like in Transformers 2) but I didnt feel Man of Steel did that. For me it helped to show the sheer supremacy of these guys, where the world literally crumbled around their power. Every punch felt like mountains could be crippled - so seeing entire buildings collapse around their battles was spot on for me.

What I wasnt so keen on was how cartoony some of the CGI looked towards the end, pulled me out of a few scenes and I wished it was more grounded, but meh - a tiny complaint considering how well done 90% of the shots were.

Really really very good. Both the wife and I want to see this again, absolutely.

Oh, and THAT end... ;-) WOW

                    What a giant Meh.

They should of just give up half way through. By the time I had seen 87 buildings have superman fly through them I was a little bored. I was lolling my face off when they

flew into space and threw the satellite

                    I was expecting

                    DIRECTED BY ZACK SNYDER

                    to appear on screen.

I enjoyed all the flashbacks and Krypton though

Same the middle was abit of a zzzz fest. I really enjoyed the fight in smallville with superman, evil woman and big ass bad guy. Felt very mgs : r if they ever made a movie of that game.

Thought the action for the last hour though was excellent.

Another meh from me. I felt little to no connection with the characters and the entire second half was a good lesson in how not to pace a movie. It should have been called 'superman: everything blew up'. Casting wise Cavill was pretty good, but everyone else was a cardboard cutout. There was one part that stood out because it actually touched on what makes Superman an interesting character

when that guy started on him in the cafe and he ended up trashing his lorry

, but the rest was pretty generic scifi (I was getting strong Highlander 2 and He-Man the movie vibes) mixed with stuff blowing up. Great effects and action scenes, though.

                        I rate John Carter higher!

By the time they showed a scene where ANOTHER whole building came crashing down it felt like I had been watching suups and zod fly tackle each other into concrete for a full hour, I couldn't cope with any more. Some stuff I really liked in there but the concrete slamming and crash bang wallop of the middle bit was proper ropey crap.

I thought all the fighting was epic.

Hmm, mixed reactions here. I have to choose my cinema excusions wisely as I only have a few family-member-will-baby-sit tokens a year. This or wait for next Big Mommas House?

It ****s all over anything Marvel have ever come out with.
