not Khan. Beaks here, first with an apology for the horrendously misleading headline, and secondly a link to this lovely Telegraph profile of Simon Pegg, in which the very fine actor vehemently denies that Khan Noonien Singh is the...

Simon Pegg says that the villain in Star Trek XII is definitely not Khan.

I don't have access to his full interview but I'm not sure the interpretation on AICN or the quote from the Telegraph is entirely correct. He says 'It's not Khan' in answer to the question - 'will this be like Wrath of Khan?' As far as I can see, 'Khan' in this instance refers to the film, not the character. So his answer is saying, we're not doing another Wrath of Khan. Given the time Wrath of Khan is set, it would make no sense for this film to follow that story.

That doesn't mean it won't interpret the original Khan story, Space Seed, or have elements of that story. And I don't see anything in there that says Khan won't be the villain either. It doesn't say he will be but I don't see anything there from Pegg that says the villain in this Star Trek is not Khan.

The Kidd here So now that Warner Bros. is moving forward with trying to bring together a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie with Will Beall penning the script, you have to be curious as to how they're planning to attack the DC Comics superhero ensemble....

Some snippets regarding the series. Bits mentioned are that a lot of this one has been filmed in IMAX, Abrams and co behind the camera will likely move on after Star Trek XIII which they have ideas ready for.

          MASSIVE SPOILER

The link above has what appears to be the reveal of who the bad guy in ST12 is. I won't say who it is here but only that if true it's a nice nod and makes sense with the franchise history.

Looks ridiculous. I prefer proper Star Trek.

The poster looks like Dark Knight Rises. And so does the trailer. Doesn't look all that Star Trekky at all but I loved the last one and this one looks action packed and hopefully it will be a fun ride. Some pretty impressive moments in the trailer. My only issue is the angry villain out for vengeance. That was the same in the last movie and they kind of fudged his motivation, which I feel negatively affected the movie. And it's the same as what they did in the awful Nemesis before it. Three movies in a row with the angry person turning up wanting vengeance for some reason. Where's the bodily going places?

Still, looks pretty cool and I have high hopes that I'll very much enjoy it.

Nice that they've got Cumberbatch off our TV screens for a while.

Cumberbatch as Pickard as Khan though? Brave move.

Trailer looks class! J.J has never put out a duff project so I am really looking forward to this.

Watched the reboot on Saturday night and its brilliant so I have Hugh hopes for this.

I don't think he is Khan somehow ... That wouldn't work and would be too obvious. I haven't checked the link above so please no more potential spoilers .. fake or not.

The thing is how exactly are they supposed to make the film more Star Trekky? .. If they made it like the TV series it just wouldn't work (which has been proved before), the worst in the series are the ones that try to be a TV episode fitted into a two hour film. In the end you have to go down this route for films as far as I am concerned.

Yeah the whole 'I will have my revenge' bad guy thing is a bit obvious I would agree with that, but then if you look at all the films (and quite a few TV episodes) that tends to be the main theme anyway.

As far as the films are concerned we have had: Khan, Rogue Klingon, Rogue Vulcan, More Rogue Klingons, Rogue El-Aurian, Rogue Baku and then two Rogue Romulans in a row (well one was a clone of Picard). They all had a beef with someone, or something which gave them their motivations.

It's hardly original, but then as long as it works I couldn't care, I am a pretty big Trek fan, but there is nothing to worry about with what I have seen so far.

Damon Lindelof is behind this one too? I foresee plot holes. And I agree with Dogg: I want them to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before; not just do crazy action stuff in earth-like environments.

You obviously haven't seen the good Star Trek movie: Star Trek The Motion Picture.

As I said above that would work for TV , but not for film.

JJ Abrams said it's not Khan, so I think logically, we have to accept that it probably is Khan.
