Personally im looking forward to it, he will certainly give the visuals a different twist, and i cant see the acting style being the same as previous movies, maybe he will go for some unknowns, or up and comings instead of the traditional big names.

I saw Hayden Christensen in some small film before Star Wars on the TV and he wasn't actually that bad of an actor. I think a huge part of why almost everyone sucks in the prequels (Liam Neeson I liked) is because of Lucas' horrible writing and that he's not much of a director, he can't bring out the good in his actors.

He and his team might prove me wrong and admittedly until I can think of a better director to step-up instead he will have to do for now. The (good?) quality of Into Darkness will act as a benchmark as to if he is the right man or not.

I'm going to cut Abrams a little bit of slack. He isn't willing to commit to the release date previously announced by Disney as he wants to take time making sure the script is right before filming commences.
Also it turns out Ben Affleck was in the running for the Epsidoe VII gig. Now that I would like to have seen. He really is a brilliant director.
