Can't be the only one who thinks this is a terrible idea. Disney are more than capable of creating child friendly abortions of nature far worse than anything spewed up by episode 1 or the holiday special. Half expecting to see cameos from kermit and miss piggy as well!

Like every movie produced under their Touchstone label? There is no reason to believe they will make them under the Disney banner. Doing so would definitely alienate a lot of fans. They are very specific about which of their studios they release movies under. A good example of this is The Nightmare Before Christmas. At its original release, it was deemed very un-Disney, and labeled as a Touchstone movie. After it's popularity grew as a family friendly christmas movie, Disney started releasing it as a Disney movie in 2006. I expect all Star Wars production to remain under LucasArts, and have the same level of maturity as the original trilogy.

Lucas has already f***ed Star Wars way worse than Disney ever could with Clone Wars and Kinect Star Wars, it's not humanly possible to sink it any lower.

          Agree with Guts.

Also, Tron Legacy was Disney branded and tonally on a level with Star Wars. With way fewer Muppets.

Clone wars is actually pretty good. The movie wasn't great but the episode arcs put the prequels to shame.

Tron Legacy is a great (with flaws) film, if they put as much love into the new StarWars films as they did with that I will be a very happy camper. My only worry is that 'The Black Hole' remake is probably going to slip even further back now, or not even get made.

I actually thought Tron legacy was very well done, so much so i ended buying the daft punk remix album & the movie on blueray for high deff goodness, as the whole feel of the movie just stuck in my head.

If Disney give the new SW trilogy the same attention, and make a diamond in the rough, personally ill be quite happy, but thats just me. I think the entire rest of the world will be expecting the moon on a stick topped off with a deathstar

I also liked Tron. It wasn't bad.

Can't believe there's so much love for Tron Legacy. That film was proper ****. CGI Jeff Bridges? Please.

Star Wars is dead to me anyway in terms of new releases so I don't really care too much about this. I'll always have the two-suns shot on Tattooine

I didn't even know he was CGI. >< I thought it was prosthetic treatment.

As I said earlier, Lucas did not have 100% control over the original Star Wars.
His story his world , I think we can credit Lucas for it (like it or hate it)

The man himself has probably changed a lot since then too. He once said 'a special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing
Don't we all ? and with out Star Wars special effects I doubt the film would have half the success it was , but there again even Lucas could see the need for special effects and set up his own company to do them , but I doubt you'll even credit him for that

Do you watch the utter w*nk that gets released these days? AoD was awesome, funnier than ED2 but just not as dark.
There's plenty of good films made today, even some half decent horror ones . I thought Evil Dead III/AOD was poor and a massive step backwards from ED II

Yep Tron Legacy was awful and Star Wars has had it time and should be left to make way for something new
