This looks to be pulling too much on rose tinted heart strings with the main theme and iconic ships. I didnt really see anything to get excited about. Ford is absolutely ancient looking now, it was bad enough having an old Indiana bundling along but I dont think I can stomach a borderline zimmer frame Solo. The storm troopers look dated too although Im interested to see who that shiney metal is. I was initially excited about the new baddie but as stated earlier his final look is unoriginal.
Unfortunately the prequels have done so much damage, one of my problems is that I don't think I'll ever get used to CGI in star wars no matter how subtle it is. I realise this is my issue and not really the fault of the makers.
If only this came out instead of the prequels I probably would've lapped it straight up.

Despite the CG cartoon-fest the prequels were, it's still odd getting used to modern effects in these films. I wouldn't say I'm excited as yet, but at the same time I'm getting a little bit of a vibe that this will overall end up being one of the top three entries of the 7 already.Comment

I'm loving this and have been so since the first trailer. Can't wait. I'm glad I who actually enjoy these on a child's level at this age. Seriously, Hollywood in the past 5+ years has been a dream come true for nerds with all the comic book films and now this. People still complain, but whatever floats your boat.
