It's just so painful to see Christensen onscreen with Nathalie Portman. She's one of the finest actors of her generation and he's just... Terrible.

It may have worked if they had chemistry, but they don't. Every kiss is cringeworthy.

Disney's CEO has played down talk of Ep7 rivalling Cameron's two hitters for highest grossing of all time. Jurassic World has shown the power a hit with nostalgia attached can be which set off all the chatter.

I'm expecting it to be the first entry to beat the $1bn barrier but not to take on Cameron's two entries. Star Wars is huge but taken purely on individual entries success levels it's never been uber level huge.

I'm going to disagree with you there. I think, if the initial reviews suggest this a return to form for the series after the prequels, I think this is going to absolutely demolish any cinema records that came before it.

My Dad, who is 60-odd, wants to see it. I want to see it. My nephews who are <7 are likely going to want to see it. My mate at work has teenage kids who are excited about it. Star Wars fans want to see it, the Marvel fans will give it a go due to the Disney/Marvel connection. Thanks to marvel, geeks have faith that our favourite properties can be realised faithfully on the big screen. People will go see it with other friends who like Star Wars, even if they don't. And let's face it, who doesn't know about Star Wars? Even if you haven't seen it, you're familiar with it. It's a genuinely global brand.

I think come January, we're going to need to have an entirely different frame of reference when it comes to "success" in blockbuster movies.

I'm wondering if the movie can live up to the DICE Battlefront game that is coming out a few weeks before it.

You nature a very valid point Asura. The brand familiarity means they can get people interested just by mere mention of the name.

It looks like they'remaking lots of right choices.Let's hope they come together well in December.

I think the fact the game comes out two weeks before the film is marketing genius. Surely it means it'll just add to the hype at a time when it's already fever pitch.

I'm sure this is dependent on how good the movie actually is. I have high hopes for it considering the passion the entire production department has for the franchise but there is always a chance that it might not be that great. If it is, I'll probably go see the movie at least twice, if not three times.

Titanic achieved its box office revenue from multiple viewings, did it not? I didn't like that movie personally, though.

Yeah, hence what I said at the start.

I think if it's poor, it'll still do prequel/Hobbit numbers (I don't think a Star Wars film can flop).

I think he looks pretty awesome. I have no idea why but doddery old Luke Skywalker works so, so, so much better for me than old Han Solo. Han should have burnt out in his 50s, going down in a blaze of intergalactic glory.

Bad choice in clothing plus the fat beard makes him look more rotund. Hamills never been really out of shape.

                                Short hair short beard FTW.
