1979 is good, but top Pumpkins track for me is Stand Inside Your Love. Don't even like Machina much as an album but I do truly love that track.

        Coldplay started out as a Radiohead tribute act ! ! ! !

Seriously, stick a few songs from A Rush of Blood to the Head on the Radiohead best of and I doubt many would notice.
Heh. I saw Muse (Showbiz-era) supported by Coldplay (Yellow-era) at Newcastle Uni years ago. I bet you'd have a field day with the Radiohead comparisons at that gig!

The drumming on that track is great, a real pounding, galloping arrangement that knits together everything in the song. Jimmy Chamberlin is a truly great drummer, his stuff on Mellon Collie (like Tonight) is a total joy to listen to.

Now I'm sure its bollocks, but my brother once told me that Coldplay actually started as a N-Sync cover band. That made me lol.

On topic. Listening to The Boredoms - Chocolate Synthesizer. Worth it for Acid Police alone. Absolutely immense stuff.

Not quite, Chris Martin was into the N-Sync type of thing and he'd talked about starting a boy band that he wanted to call Pectoralz. Luckily Guy Berryman seemed to have better hearing than Chris Martin when he joined up.

I'm listening to some Radiohead. A mate had a spare ticket for their gig in Victoria Park tonight so I nabbed it. I've never been a massive follower so I thought I'd better do some research. I'm pretty excited though.

Few Big Mike mix tapes (Grand Theft Audio NY 1 & 2, and First 48hrs pt3), and The Game - Before L.A.X.

Bankrobber was a quality cover. I have a couple of audioweb singles kicking about somewhere. I remember them doing the festivals around 1996/97. Anyone know what happend to them?

*Edit* Checked good ol wikipedia. Bass player plays with badly drawn boy. The band split up 1999.

The new N*E*R*D album for me toady, can't decide if I like it at the moment.

Interestingly I was blasting the Death Proof soundtrack in my car last night and without realizing I hit the car's limiter on the M1, that's probably 50% faster than I'd ever gone before and it got me thinking are there certain songs that just turn your right foot to lead or is it just me?

I've been listening to Burial - Burial and his latest album Untrue. It's classified as dubstep but I'd recommend it to anyone who is a fan of beautiful ambient tunes. I read that one of his favourite samples is the sound of a shell casing hitting the floor in Metal Gear Solid but I've yet to hear it!
Besides, my favourite track is called 'Shell of Light' which you can check out on the link below, and if you buy the albums I guarantee you won't regret it.

Is that the group who's sound was referred to as 'Math rock' in rocksound magazine? That description stuck with me - I imagined a group of Rivers Cuomo-style geeks planning songs on quadratic function graphs.
I seem to remember hearing a track on their giveaway compilation and finding it quite good.
