I just ordered a nice stack of albums from HMV's sale for ?23.

I got 3 Emperor albums, 2 Cannibal Corpse, 1 Human League and 1 MGMT. Nice

4hero - Play With The Changes. It's an album I adore but listen to sporadically, yet should listen to religiously.

It's just....superior music. 4hero have been kicking arse for years, they have consistently dropped amazingly beautiful, memorable, soulful albums, they are sublime. The idea of being 'proud to be British' is stupid to me, yet these guys make me feel proud to be British, so grateful that such incredible, graceful music could ever emanate from this land of ours, and only could.

Mindblowing, as always with these bods.

My daughter got that for her birthday (And has been playing it non-stop!). I quite like her stuff as a rule, but I don't rate the album very highly outside of what's already been released (Alejandro is OK, which I think is going to be the next single).

Anyhoo, Them Crooked Vultures this morning and Death Cab For Cutie / Plans at lunchtime. Wanted something to chill to.

True, i'd say this album is a grower compared to the non stop hit fest of The Fame. Sligthly more subversive.

I was listening to Helmet - Meantime and Betty.

I always liked Helmet as a yoof, but could never wear their band shirt as it would look like I was labelling myself as a bit of a helmet.

At the Download Festival this year I saw a kid with a t-shirt that said:

TOOL
(Not the band, I'm just a tool)

I might do a Spotify list of bands with euphemistic names:
Helmet
Tool
Hole
AC/DC
Toad the Wet Sprocket
etc.
