I really like it. It has the same feel as his older material but the use of guitar tones (some real, some from software plug-ins) makes Popp's experimentations sound fresh once more.

I've also ordered O (the double CD) from Boomkat. Can't wait.

That's a pretty cool ambient track, reminded me of a track from SH2 (from 30s onwards):

Anyway, here's a fave of mine - one from Biosphere's excellent Substrata:

Plus a more upbeat track by Kettel which I only discovered fairly recently:

Jamaica - No Problems. Utter badass French daft rock, all the tracks are very similar in the best possible way mind.

Rose Elinor Dougall - Without Why. Ex best Pipette in alt folk solo effort, mostly good relaxing effort.

Listened to this for the first time today and would agree it's epic.
Have to admit my head was going big time Waynes World stylee!

George Duke - Feel. Whole album is epic, funky, soulful and constantly sends shivers up one's back, gah, funky jazz is the best.

Gotta love it on the title track, right at the start he typifies the trademark Duke harmony, basically sounds like a big, fat woman with a beard with one hell of a beautifully soulful delivery, the man is magnificent, it's majestic:

Sir Luscious Left foot album: Big boi from Outkasts latest prompted by being a bargain and also excellent online reviews, initial impressions are positive, not normally my thing but 80's style synth funk is always a bonus!

It's all about 'Brazilian Love Affair' - top Summer jam

^Check this track out, even better:

ABLA is probably my fave album of all time, definitely my most listened, the cover used to be my avatar when I first joined this site! All of his stuff from that period is the stuff of legend, proper positive Yoda Jedi power.

Yeah lovin' that funk sound. Great period for music overall.

I've been listening to Philip Selway's Familial today. I'm quite enjoying it but need a few more listens to really get used to it.

So it is worth getting then?

In that case, I also recommend Metropolis by Janelle Monae which is one of the freshest albums I've heard this year, referencing funk, Afrobeat, rock, classic soul, jazz and even classical music and putting it all together with inimitable style.
