with have i got news for you my enjoyment was based exclusively on what presenter and guests they had on......some times it is really funny and other times it is painful to watch (mostly when politicians are on)

For me i think top gear relies a lot on who is presenting it (look at the american and australian versions as a comparison ) if may and hammond work with a guest presenter each week you may get the odd one that really clicks but then there gone again.

If may/hammond/clarkson went as a unit to any other channel i reckon they could really command what money they would get.

Celebrity Traffic Island with Bear Grylls

12 celebrities are placed on a traffic island off the M25.
Forced to survive by eating what they find and drinking roadside Tizer, the celebs must work as a team or face being voted off the island by the public and pushed into oncoming traffic.

Doesn't matter who does it really, won't be the same and I'm sure it will lose 50% of viewers after one episode. Assume Hammond and May will stay loyal to Clarkson.

They probably read it in Twitter.

                        Three year deal

TV and radio personality Chris Evans will replace Jeremy Clarkson as the lead presenter of an all-new Top Gear line-up, the BBC announces.

Gutted but was always going to be the case I suppose no mention who his sidekicks will be.

Is this the same Chris Evans who said he wasn't interested?

I'm gutted because it means he won't be doing a full TFI season.

My thoughts exactly. And on numerous ocassions too.

In good news though, the final Clarkson and gang episode is a 75 minute special, which will be shown on 28th June.
