i thought the second episode of nodame cantabile was excellent too. definately going to stick with it. the new character introduced in this episode is pretty cool, and so far the characters dont seem to be conforming to stereotypes yet.

saw the first episode of Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou too. very nice action and animation make it worth checking out at least, although exactly what its about isnt too clear. but i like what i saw...hopefully the quality will stay high.

Seconded/Thirded/whatever. I thought ep 2 was even better with regards to the comedy than the first. Second only to the Genshiken OVA ep as comedy goes. Hilarious bits in there

The whole scene with the seduction attempt and make up and Mine's attempts to apply it on her and some of the lines Nodame comes out with especially for example when she's giving Mine tips. "You play like you're jacking off" , her wanting a kiss from her prince to cure her etc... Mine was a pretty class addition to the cast too. I particularly liked his lines at the beginning that mirrored Chiaki's from the first ep only with a slight change. Plus of course the violin >_< There's no doubt other scenes that I'm forgetting.

. Hopefully the subs keep up a decent pace, really enjoying it so far.

couple of new shows -

Manabi Straight - watched ep1 and love it, uses similar colouring to Happiness but with x10 animation budget. Basiclly School girls + misadventure. Keeper for me.

Venus vs Virus - Girls with guns/knifes/fists fight demons(viruses), seems really poor inthe wake of Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou, but i liked the shows bit with the girl going insane with blood lust to fight the demons, which what will have me at least watching the next few episodes.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou - loved what i saw, stories all over the place at the moment, all we got in a episode 1 was alot of fights and gore, gave of an almost Big trouble in little china vibe . Animation and Art are brilliant.

Saint October - goth loli magic girl show, it was ok but its not gonna keep my interest, deleted.

Negima Natsu OVA - 2nd negima ova, and even more fan service than the summer ova... and it really over the top the scenes are all loosey tried together by Nodoka getting 'handcuffed' for the day to Negi(via a spell) and being forced to go the class presidents new bath house...

Started watching Death Note the other night, first new anime i've watched in months (been wary of trying new stuff after a bunch of big breast no story ****e) and I was hooked after the first 10 minutes Before I realized it was 1:30am and had to hit the sack because of work but I couldnt sleep >_< Kept thinking about what was going to happen next hehe.

I have to echo Orgun's sentiments, just watched the first two episodes of Death Note and this really is top notch, its taking a lot of will power to go to sleep in a minute and not just watch all ten episodes I've downloaded so far. I think I'm going to easily have caught up with the releases by the end of the week.

Agreed on these. Ep2 of manabi had a drop in animation but that's really comparing to the first episode which looked damn good. Still it wasn't horrendously bad, it's just one those eps where they might correct a few scenes on the DVDs. Got cheesy at times (I still can't help cringing when she says or as in ep 2 both of them say "Massugu! Go!" but overall it was pretty enjoyable some pretty funny moments in there. Keeper for me and with eclipse in a joint it should be subbed fairly regularly plus there high res release looks quite nice.

Venus - first ep I didn't think was that bad but then I've not seen Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou yet so maybe it is noticeably worse (I look forward to checking that show out anyway, heard good stuff about it). Seemed interesting enough for me and could turn out to be pretty decent later on so I'll stick with it for the time being. I think I've got an idea of where the show is going and so long as it's about on a par with the first ep I'll stick with it.

Seen a bit more of code geass now and it's been good stuff. The cat chasing episode was kind of random but funny at times. Should hopefully be caught up by the end of the week.

Some other news that may be of interest. Mushishi got officially announced as licensed \o/ even though the C&D was given as far back as October last year IIRC. Still good to know it's coming over and also Gunbuster 2 is apparently licensed too \o/. I might wait on that to see if they do some sort of special pack with the first one included but I'll definitely pick it up some time in the future. Some less interesting licenses were Suzuka and Shuffle.

Oh and something for Tobal (because I don't think anyone else was interested in Bokura Ga Ita), the manga is being worked on (not sure if work has progressed or if they are still getting people together) from volume 9 onwards so basically picking up after the bit Triad did at the end of volume 8. Don't know when it'll be out but I'll give a heads up if I'm around and it's not already been released. Been looking forward to it myself because of that last chapter and it looks like we'll get to find out what happens next \o/

looks like it, i assume that he's figured out some clever way of reminding himself where he hid it. maybe he will find it again and remember everything, or perhaps just figure it all out again.
its a clever way of really confusing L though
its always so difficult to guess where its headed.

Could someone please fill me on whats going on with Naruto???

Im upto 190 but i havent seen any after that. The reason i ask is the new wii Naruto game is based on the latest anime episodes but for some reason naruto looks older in this new game & the thing that freaked me out
