Watched the extra Aria episode and it was . I miss the series so much. Also caught on Amatsuki which is being reasonably enjoyable but it seems like it'll have a quick finish which is a bit disappointing.

Edit: Speaking of large torrents, One piece episodes 1-360 wnet up on tosho weighing in at a tiny 96gb.

Edit again:I know it's still a bit early since Summer's just started but have a peek at Autumn's lineup:




Some interesting stuff and a fair number of sequels/follow-ups to look forward to like G00 and Clannad.

well then time for some thoughts on the new season so far:

Telepathy Girl Ran: after 3 eps its developing quite nicely however after the end of the last ep, i have a feeling it may go drop abit now that everyone's all friends and seems to have dropped the more darker edge it had.

Sekirei: not much to say, its this seasons echi series, seems like a blend of kanokon and its ilk with abit of ikkitousen thrown it, as with these things there more brainless entertainment so not really too concerned about story / development etc.

Strike Witches: seems like a more action packed version of Sky Girls, and atleast in design is alot closer to the original Mecha Masamune. I quite enjoyred sky girls and as such am quite enjoying this so far.

Birdy: Nice first ep reminded me of something but could place it. Looks like it should prove to be a solid action series but abit early to tell.

Mahou Tsukai: not a great deal of magic so far apart from abit of snow, but im not complaining, had a nice relaxed feel good feeling, and reminded me of 5cm per second for some reason.

ZnT 3: seems were back to square one with louise and saito, i hope they dont intend to play that routine for another season, it was ok for the first couple as it eventually developed. Theyve thrown in the bit about other void users and saito losing his brand rather quickly so hopefully it wont faf around with filler too much and get stuck into the story early on.

Hidamari Sketch x365: may be a recop of sorts but still loved it, loved the first series and looking forward to more.

Jesus jeff, autumn line up already dont think ive ever seen one this early before. Anyways Gundam00 is back \o/ (and if you havent seen the latest site updates, all the pilots are confirmed back, even lock on, god knows how). Also looking forward to the obvious like lucky star ova clannad after story as well as the new ef series and Jigoku Shoujou which i love despite alot of people not.

also why im here i want to bring to your attention a rather awesome AMV. normally i hate the vast majority as there so badly made, but on rare occasions, like the Princess Tutu :Hall on Mig AMV and this one, a real gem shows up. Casshern Sins - Enjoyed the Casshern movie, hopefully this is as good although im not too sure about the art style in that image
Gundam 00 2nd season - ...It's Gundam
Hazama no Uta - I know nothing about it but like the art in the image
Lucky Star - Always nice to have more Lucky Star

The rest I dont really know anything about.

Watched Marcross eps 14, good old fashioned Macross/Robotech big ass battles

Autumn looks amazing, especially Nodame Cantabile. As for Tales of the Abyss Orgun, im really jealous of you playing through it the first time, Luke is a fantastic character. Its my favourite game in the series and one of my all time favourite rpgs.

I hated Casshern the film, i thought it was a souless movie. Beautifully directed but it lacked soul. Its a typical movie coming from a music video director. As for the art style its sticking to its original roots.

I agree with you on Hazama no Uta, i really like the art on that one myself.

So yes its definetly looking to be a good Autumn. Vampire+Rosario can GTFO though.

So, the wife and I have just sat down and started watching the first episode of Strike Witches. When we were out in Tokyo there were loads of Revoltech figures for the characters which we thought were cool but couldn't figure out where they were from.

It looks nice (cat ears + glasses + cute + magic = all good) I just can't figure out why none of the girls are wearing anything over their pants I mean, there they are soaring at a few thousand feet, it's got to be pretty nippy, and a tiny pair of briefs isn't going to be much protection against the laser barrages of an invading alien fleet.

They do look cute though

I need to find the list that I compiled of interesting looking shows for the Autumn season. But yeah it looks much better than the summer season (as they often tend to be. Autumn and spring are where it's at IMO, with the occasional gem in the winter or summer).

Other stuff that might not have been mentioned that I can remember off the top of my head:
Michiko to Hatchin - it's by manglobe (Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy) so I'm hoping for some stylish action and the sort of jazzy/latino vibe they have going on seems quite unique for an anime. Something on the level of Champloo or Bebop with this setting would be nice if not wishful thinking.

Tytania - Another space opera epic (?) from the guy behind one of the most well known ones in anime/manga, Legend of Galactic Heroes. I don't know a huge deal but the fact it's by the same guy as LoGH and the image has me jumping to all sorts of wonderful conclusions. I certainly hope it is an epic space opera.

Shikabana Hime Aka - I think this is the same sort of deal as with minami-ke in that Gainax will be doing the first season and someone else will be doing the second. Probably read on animesuki, no idea how true it'll be but the very mention of Gainax has me excited. I've loved their past few shows to bits.

Bounen No Xamdou - original anime from BONES. A part of me hopes it can equal something like Eureka 7 but who knows. I've liked pretty much all of their recent output that I've seen (only missed Ayakashi Ayashi which I intend to catch up on), IMO they've excelled with Soul Eater, so it'll be cool to see some original stuff from them again.

Then there's all the sequels to stuff like Gundam 00, Nodame, ef, Clannad etc.. No doubt there'll be a few surprises as well (there usually is).

Just watched the Aria dvd ep myself, really good and well animated and i always enjoy Ponytail/Pigtail combo.. damn they looked good together when Aika and Alice sneaked in on them.

As for One Piece i've been following KF releases for 3/4 years now(ep248), just wish they'd speed up abit more and always release 1 ep a week

the 2nd half of this year looks fantastic, now if i could just get that Airmaster sequel.

I gave up on KF with regards to One Piece as most of the time they wouldn't even release an episode in a week. So i began reading the manga from the point it was at, till the up to date releases by Instantz.

A 3rd Higurashi season has just been confirmed, i know there were rumours floating around about a 3rd series towards the end of the 2nd, but most rumours thought it would be an OVA. Well its been confirmed as a full series going under the name of Umineko no Naku Koro ni. It going to be based on the 7th expansion (im not all too hot on how the series play in relation to the games, so cant say how this will fall in accordance with the first 2 series), and is due to go into production in the summer, so im guessing we should see it airing next spring/summer.

Cant wait tho, i love higurashi especially the first series, so a new series is more than welcome for me.
