One of the Evangelion movies replaces the last two episodes of the TV series, Rebirth follows episode 24 and replaces 25 & 26. Death is the series recap movie. Although the original release of Rebirth was incomplete because of time constraints so they re-released a new version called "The End of Evangelion" ....I love Evangelion, one of my favourite series of all time

Toradora ep16 - wow , flipping great episode.

Never saw the open confession coming and thought he'd given up, but boy and the fight with taiga/kanou afterwards was fantastic, they really beat the **** of each other and to top it off it ended well to. Loved the little but at the end with the wallet, shame Ami yet again played big sister for Minorin when she's fallen for Ryuji herself, which should let Minorin get together with Ryuji, also im betting the picture underneath Kitamura's is one of Ryuji.

Catching up with some other new stuff.

Akikan ep1-3 - wow, just wtf is that plot, everyones a dirty perv, the music is ear splitting and it contains some rubbish fighting. But i can't get enough of it as it makes me laugh.... no.1 fluff show of the new season, more so than Asu no Yoichi, which is pretty average and generic.

Kemono no Souja Erin ep1 - not an art style i was expecting after Seirei no Moribito, very kiddy but it does make it very unique and the story so far ain't bad, i can see something happening to the dragon things they look after that will get her mum in major trouble and it could get proper epic if it goes full 50eps.

Sora o Kakeru Shoujo ep1-2 - Quite enjoyed this, as mentioned a few pages ago it does give off a stellvia vibe but it far more crazy than science. Like the designs for the mecha, which very much like Variable fighters.

Lots of good stuff this new year, watching 18 of 25 new shows and 2 of the unseen onces Vipers Creed and Slayers will get added , with only White Album, Munto, Regios and Asu no Yoichi only on the 5 ep trail watch.

On a side note also completed Valkyria Chronicles onthe ps3 and have been mega suprised by the VA's in the game for the japanese dub i've noticed, although i can't give RL name's i can give a couple of other characters they've played like Black lagoon's Revy, Aria's Alicia, Geass's Lelouch, Ichigo Mashimaro's Ana, Minami-ke Kana(and Gurren Yoko), Gits's Batou and Major. Brilliant stuff, anyway mainly brought this up after seeing the March show listings so far and Valkyria Chronicles is on there

Slightly OT, but people here might know what I'm talking about. I notice Dattebayo are making 'copyright claims' for their subs being uploaded onto YouTube. This seems to be a hillarious case of double standards, assuming Studio Pierrot didn't give them permission to use their Bleach footage. I'm not sure if I'm finding it hillarious, or actually feeling quite angry.

Heh. Fansubbing is rife(maybe a slight exaggeration ) with this sort of thing. Some groups steadfastly refusing to embrace things like softsubs because they want to protect their subs from being stolen by other groups etc... Given it's Dattebayo though I suspect they might not be entirely serious. Who knows

i'm really enjoying Hajime no Ippo the new challengers

its gripping stuff, the fight sequences are excellent

only 4 episodes in and its all been good

Toradora ep17 - new OP and ED, not a fan of the OP but the ED is good. As for the content, it was good episode until the end

where they pretty much start to kick start the taiga*ryuji end which saddens me , means the Minorin parts "if" they happen won't mean **** if he's already noticed he feeling something for Tiaga, and Ami being left to obscruity which is a crime itself.

Been catching up on a lot of stuff myself. Finished off Earl and Fairy which was quite fun although sometimes waaay too girly for my tastes. Nodame Paris was fantastic in the end, majorly looking forward to the new season in the Autumn.
Kemeko was quite fun and silly, wouldn't mind more and Yozakura was fairly average in the end which is a shame since it showed some promise. Looking forward to the last episode of Xam'd next week!

Out of this season I'd say Maria Holic, Marimite, Munto, Rideback, Ippo and Zoku Natsume are in the high tier for me and I'm almost tempted to put Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo in there for the enjoyment value of Leopard.

Tobal; if you look on /rs/ you should find the first two episode of Slayers have been subbed and the sub file for episode 3 is also on there.

Thanks for the slayers tip. From the spring list the only ones i'm cert to watch are

2. FMA remake
3. Natsu no Arashi

and just about pipping my interest, Hayate season2.

Damnit, i knew it was coming but that was more gutting than i thought it would be, and played off well with the first half with there friends turning up and i liked that Tomoya inner thoughts were let known to the viewer. The animation, art direction and music really did it for me . Only bad bit was that crappy ED, they really, really should have just cut it out for this ep, other than that i can't think of how they could've done a better ending for Nagisa's death. It's up there with the likes of the Merry-Go and Haku/Zabuza

Not played the game so I'm not as interested in the anime of Valkyria Chronicles but I imagine I'll probably end up watching a few episodes at least. It's A1 pictures though, who have impressed me with some of their shows so...

Natsu No Arashi whilst I've not read the manga the people involved give me some hope that it'll be good.

Cross Game I'll definitely be watching through tears of joy. I didn't think this would be the sort of climate for another (and more to the point recent) adaptation of an Adachi Mitsuru manga. Again haven't read it but I'm a big fan of his other mangas so I'm optimistic about this one.

FMA is a definite too.

I started reading the manga of Hayate recently and I much prefer it. I may watch the anime but I'm hoping they cut it down a bit in length. I sort of lost interest in the original series about halfway through after the initial novelty wore off (the jokes seem to work much better for me in the manga though). I may get back to it eventually, perhaps before this new season, just to see if I was being unfairly harsh on it way back.

One or two other projects which have piqued my interest( Sengoku Basara from production IG could be a laugh or their other project which seems interesting) but my general feeling is it's slim pickings so far. Could be a good season to play catch up in. More info and watching needed before making a more definite statement.

Hayate definitely works better in manga form, purely down to it having a fairly consitent development of the characters. A lot of the series was too much orientated around the random jokes and parodies than about the characters. (Although granted, a fair number of the same jokes are present in the manga) Hinagiku for example gets faaaar more development than she ever did in the series.

Sort of interested by Cross Game since I know you really like the series but also majorly turned off by the fact it's baseball. Is it excessively in depth? I don't think I could bear it if it was a complex analysis of baseball and a romance story. Took me years to get round to Ippo because of my sports hate.

Likewise though, season seems fairly weak, although Eden of the East and Shangri-la(make it work Gonzo please) sound interesting. I hope there's more announcements.

Sidenote: 1.6GB release of a very anticipated Kara no Kyoukai 5, random isp bandwidth restriction down to 30kb/s and Sub Release Sunday with 15 episode updates leave me with a face like this:

God dammit this series keeps getting to me!

Next season looks to be very strong. This season has been pretty weak, only really Maria + Holic that's good (ride back was a bit disappointing)
