I liked Denpa onna to seishun Otoko to, its like they've mixed up Squid girls plot with Bakemonogatari's way of characters talking to each other and direction. Definitly going to continue watching it.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai ep1 - another good show, good art and animation. Like the set up to, MC looks like he's become a NEET/dropout from the charismatic person he once was and his childhood friends have all grown up and drifted apart.

Now he can see the ghost of a dead friend and it looks like he'll be tasked with getting back on good terms with his former friends and forfilling whatever wish the girl made.

Looking like it'll be good for drama and comedy like Clannad.

Deadman Wonderland ep1 - comepletely stupid setup to get the kid in the jail, you just have to jump at the assumation that everyone in power was paid off. Show looks like Eureka7's cast(specially renten) and art style set to a mashup of Running man and Battle Royal. Could be interesting, just hope the stupidness is confined the 1st 20mins of ep1.

Astarotte no Omocha! ep1 - complete trash, ToLove Ru with a reverse Harem for the MC...

C the Money soul and Possibility of Control ep1 - Interesting plot, seems like some sort of persona clone but with money(and souls) and mixed in with pokemon. Goning to kept watching for now.

I'd say so far the seasons been good for watchable shows. At least 4 shows above 7/10

Slowly getting back into watching anime after a break of, erm, I dread to think (only watched Oreimo recently. Didn't even finish Haruhi S2 due to the Endless 8 debacle) and was looking to start working through my backlog. I've been downloading but not watching.

The good thing about having stayed out of the loop for a while is that many series I'd normally watch have aired on TV, been released on Blu-ray and then fansubbed from those HD sources.

Watched the first couple of High School of the Dead and am rather enjoying it! I like the over the top fan service (ecchi much? ) and the OTT violence. Other series I have on my list to get through are Spice & Wolf 2, Working (halfway through that - I likey), Strike Witches 2-ki, Seitokai Yakuindomo, the latter series of Minami-ke, Dance in the Vampire Bund & Sora no Woto.

Haruhi S2 is worth finishing, just skip past the Endless Eight arc. It's worth watching just to see Kyon finally lose it against Haruhi. The movie is also excellent.

Looks very well animated and it actually manages to get their eyes right (the cut scenes in the game made them look pretty soulless)

10 episodes of High School of the Dead this afternoon and I'm finding it ridiculously brilliant!! The episode where Takashi is firing the rifle using Rei's chest as a support had me lolling.

Fave character is Saeko though. Probably because she reminds me a little of Mio but, well...

Been watching Hanasaka Iroha seriously, other stuff I've been watching with no real attention but this stands out to me. I'm not sure why because the premise isn't exactly new but I think the protagonist is a little more unusual that normal.

Hanasaku Iroha is definitely good, i'll stick with that.

Steins gate is weird, andi have no idea whats going on, but i like that too.

sket dance and tiger & bunny are reasonable i guess. if i can keep up to date i may stick with them.

the first episode of deadman wonderland is out now too. one of very few mangas i have actually read. i was really looking forward to this, but was worried it would get delayed due to the earthquake/tsunami (the back story of how the prison came to be is similar). i really liked it, although it seems to be quite censored in a few scenes at the start. it'll be interesting to see how long it runs for, if they make up a new ending like with soul eater or just leave it hanging like dgrey man.

Crikey!! I see what you mean. Although, the T.S Elliot quote at the end does fit the sudden end of the series.

Good stuff and a great way to get me back in the mood for watching more.

Seitokai Yakuindomo OVA/ep14 - Definitly worth watching if you enjoyed the tv season as its a continuation of the filthy jokes and quite a few of them made me laugh loudly, it also came along with some new character introductions.. so im hoping it gets a 2nd season.

The final two episodes of Madoka are out, nice satisfying ending.

Just watched them myself, about the best they could have done with out a asspull happy ending which could have happened anyway with the power madoka finally achieved.

Found it a bit funny that in the best compromise had Sayaka dying anyway and system turning into Bleach , still it was packed full of great moments like Homura full on attack against the witch and of course madoka becoming a god with her own Big Bang, have to say i did see that coming

. Be a while till we get anything this good again.

Homura's full on assault was awesome. Brings to mind Asuka's scene in EoE.

The ending was smart and well thought out. They could've done an insulting "everything was made good" Deus Ex but instead kept it within the established rules of the universe. I found it a neat touch that what she did was turn the universe into a 'regular' magical girls ones, by not having to deal with witches, the magical girls have a much longer potential lifespan and it's far less tragic overall. They also get to go to Madoka's magical girl heaven when they die.

New Oreimo ep out! Still continues to be enjoyable. Next ep is the final one apparently.

Just discovered Dai mahou touge, it's brutal & yet really bat**** funny. The vegetable comitting suicide into the curry had me laughing my head off it reminds me so much of bobobo-bo-bobo.

I need more crazy comedy anime, the kind that makes no sense just weird funny stuff popping up all the time.

weird comedy recommendations:

Cromartie High School is a great wacky comedy.
Battle Athletes Victory is a good under-rated OTT sports comedy.
Mahoujin Guruguru is a fairly old series that parodies RPGs and it's quite hard to find but if you can it's well worth checking out
Abenobashi is a parody of the week series that's quite fun (and has a much higher hit:miss ratio than Excel Saga)

Back on the subject of current anime:

Denpa onna is probably my fav series of the season. Really likable characters and nicely animated.

Checked out Softenni which is a fairly throwaway low budget comedy but's fairly fun (heavy cencorship though).
