ep 106 ends the filler arc, but the best thing about it is th preview for 107 we get back to the story, starting with a bang 'the hospital rooftop fight" and looks to be brilliant animated from the preview.

beck ep 3 is good, i laughed pretty hard during the baseball match at the end.

Viewtiful Joe ep1 has been released, and its very enjoyable. The animation is superb in places, the style and substance are pure Joe and it follows the storyline to the letter pretty much.
Quick word of warning though. The opening and closing theme songs are frankly, too good. The closing song in particular sounds like a Japanese version of Tatu or something. The opening is just viewtiful.

Mind you, it will be interesting how it ends up being 52 episodes. Still, the first episode has won me over, and this another series that I'll be waiting for every week with baited breath.

Right, I'm off to watch some more bleach. Its a tough life ([^_^])

Wow, just went over to Tokyotosho.com and it's now a redirect to ADV.com. I know ADV are unhappy about fan subbing, but wouldn't a simple shutdown of the site sufficed? Back to Baka-updates then...

Gankutusou 2 & 3 were excellent! I'm really pleased about the way this show is working out, although my concerns about episode's being dull without the Count still stand.

Spoilers for episodes: In episode 2, I believe that the Count engineered Albert's kidnapping to get both Albert and Franz indebted to him. Although his (the Count's) willingness to take down Luigi Vampa, indicated either this was just an opportunistic coincidence, or he likes to really get in to his roles. (And his henchmen are fantastic too!) As a side note to this scene I noticed that the book that Vampa was reading/concealing a knife in was "Commentarii de Bello Gallico" a book by Julius Caesar about his war on Europe, which fitted in nicely with The Count's comment about Vampa being like a "King"

At the end of episode 2 I was impressed by the count's momentary reluctance over his revenge in the face of the two younger men's "friendship" - it's moments like this that elevate The Count above just a simple stock "brooding avenger" stereotype (see Last Exile's Alex Row as a prime example) I do hope that somehow along the way the count will be changed by his experiences with Albert and alter the course of his revenge. It would be nice to see some character growth in this show.

Episode 3 was quite short, and I felt that the section about the new characters was perfect in showing us how messed up everyone's relationships are, but it didn't really kick into gear until The Counts fantastic entrance and the return of Beppo. It will be interesting just how far the "illusion of coincidence" will take The Count in his machinations, and just how paranoid Albert could become under it's sway.

I did watch Beck, but it didn't interest me unfortunately. The Engrish was amusing though! All of which means that I'm having a bit of a dry season as far as anime is concerned - Unfortunate, but timely as I've got lot's of good games waiting to be played

Finished watching the final 2 episodes of Godannar, and OMG what freaking cool ending, the best i ever seen, wraps up lots of lose ends and leaves just enough to perhaps get us a 3rd season(i bloody hope so)

the final fight was pretty good to, it was co cool to see Lou use that Gaint gaint and combine with Godannar for 'Tripple Drive' its just a shame we only got to see it once in the 2nd series, plus Go going nuts at the wheel was sight to watch. the 7 years later bit for ep 26 was so well done, we got see everything a fan of series wanted, older version's of Anna and Lou looking super ****ing cool in there Giants Robots, old and new robot pilots and Shizune(sp?) + Go's brother in love comedy.

If you haven't watched any Godannar, go do so now!

Did you only watch the first episode? If so I highly recomend giving the 2nd ep a chance, especially if youre having a quiet season.

yep, dave is right. especially as the second ep has some music in it and a little less engrish.

Ok this might be a bit late, but anyone else watched the first episode of "gunbuster2". I loved the original, and just by chance stumbled over the first episode of "gunbuster2" on a bittorent site. I never even knew they where planning on making another!!. I loved the first one, it started off like some average animation, and then turned really deep and threw in the whole time problem. The creators of furi kuri are involved in this some how, and it seems to show as the animation style is very similar!

So anyone else seen it, and whats the impressions??

I will post some impressions when i get home to see it later, as ive only flicked through it briefly at the moment.

I have watched the whole gundam wing series+waltz, have seen the start of seed(waiting for the box set r1) and seen the first epsiodes of gundam seed destiny all of which were excellent, what is mobile fighter G gundam like?Is it along the same lines as the above ?

Thx in advance for any info

I thought the original gunbuster was awesome, but the first OVA of the latest version did nothing for me. The animation was mentally good (its gainax so that has to be expected) but I wasnt that bothered about it. Still, its only a short series so I'll probably watch it.

About to watch bleach 5, which is just behind beck as my favourite anime right now. Naruto who?!

dave you won't saying that soon, the current manga arc is about to be animated choc-full of brilliant fights.

but they'll probably screw it up with crappy pacing and sub-par animation.

they could surprise us...... who am i kidding...

Well at least the ep 107 from the preview looks well done, i gotta download it tonight. And as long as they super animate at least half the fights then i'll settle for that.
