    Too trusting pal.
The common rule for ebay is that everyone* is a thieving bastard.
If I buy a shirt from a shop, and it doesn't fit, I have to return it before I get my money back. The same should be for ebay transactions. All you can do is lodge a complaint with both ebay and paypal, also make sure to give him bad feedback.
How big was the shirt BTW?
If it was an XL I'd leave it, if it was a small or medium, you could pay him a visit!

    *Except me.

You have his address. Why not contact the Police reguarding the theft.

Bit of advice needed here lads. My mate came home from holiday the other day to find his paypal on negative ?500 even though he'd not used it. To cut a long story short, some **** has hacked his account and another ladies. He's used the ladies to send ?500 of her money to my mates account, and then used my mates account to withdraw the money into his (the hacker's account).

My friends rang paypal and they're investigating, and this morning they said "case closed" and said he needed to pay off the ?500 because it was obviously him that's withdrawn the money to his account. My mate went mental explaining he doesn't even have an account at lloyds tsb (as its a lloyds account). They're now doing another investigation.

Will he have to pay the ?500 if paypal demand it? I can't see him winning here as there's no proof the lloyds account isn't his (when I know it isn't). It's proper **** him up!

He won't get into any trouble unless they can prove on the balance of probablities* that he DID withdraw the money. If he didn't do it there's obviously no proof and nothing to worry about IMO. If he was on holiday he could prove this by showing any relevant documents he has such as used plane tickets, credit card receipts from the travel agents, hotel receipts etc etc.

I'm not saying that he did (and I am pretty sure that this is not the case), but it's not beyond reasonable doubt for him to have accessed his account while on holiday. As I say though, I doubt this happened, just be prepared that Paypal could suggest this.

Anyway, can't Paypal check the IP address used to remove/hack this money from your mate's account? They must be able to trace the money somehow?

I wanted to wait for him to send it to me but he made a complaint to Paypal and you know what they are like so I just refunded him to save any hassle. Do you know how I would make a complaint through Ebay or Paypal? I had a good look round the Paypal site but couldn't see any procedures for this type of thing.
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

I suppose I could but it just seems like a lot of hassle for ?25.

                  EBay complaints

In paypals web site, click on "Help", then "resolution centre" on the left hand side.
                  Hope it helps.

Gotta agree with this guy. Get in touch with the Cops now.

Something similar happened to me. The buyer used a fraudulent card to pay but I had already sent the item out when PP finally worked out it was fraudulent (well done PP!!). The buyer kept saying he was getting his account sorted. This went on for 3 wks & in the end I told him that I had his address details from his PP invoice & if I didnt get his payment in 3 days I'd be reporting him to the Cops for fraud.
He paid the money in by Bank Transfer & it was all sorted!.

£25 is £25 in my opinion & if someone tries that **** on me I'll be straight onto the Cops ASAP.

Dont let these wankers get away with it.

Thanks guys. I emailed him offering one more chance to sort it out and he said that he posted it yesterday. So we shall see. If it's not here by Monday then I will take it further.

Just a quick question and likely a stupid one but i'd like to ask anyway. I vaguely remember a friend mentioning to me a while ago, that they got scammed by someone on paypal as they sold them something, the person sent the payment and then, after receiving the item, reclaimed the payment they had originally sent. It seems rediculous that someone could do this (surely paypal would prevent it?) and I can't remember all the details properly so I may be mistaken, but it has got me a little worried.

You see, I recently agreed to sell a monitor to a fella and they agreed to pay by paypal, they were very difficult to deal with and kept saying they would pay and then failing to go along with it. Anyway, I hate being messed around as we all do, so I got very pissed of, told the guy I didn't want to deal with him, and assumed that was the end of it. In any case, I came back from being away for awhile and he's sent the payment and emailed me a half-hearted apology, which I was surprised about given the way he had responded to me before.

Now that i've got the payment is it safe for me to send them item, or could he reclaim it? As I said, just wanted to be safe.

For the record, his address is not confirmed, does that mean paypal won't do anything about it if I have any more problems with the tosspot?

He sure can, if he's that way inclined, and I doubt Paypal would take your side. Might be safer to just refund him tbh.

In other news, was anyone else aware of this? This is unbelievably ****. Considering all I really sell on eBay is US games, I've now had to incur a rate hike of 200% and in return I've been given about 1% as many potential customers as before. eBay can **** off.

Had the same thing happen to me. Buyer Pays, Sent Goods, Buyer Reclaims Money and keeps Goods, I didnt send recorded so had no proof the buyer had ever received them...end result I loooooooose.
